Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

It's just not right..... so who done it?? - Digital Picture Frame

Just not right!!

There I was reading a post by a nice lady named Lee Ann and I had a question about her post.  Since this was my first reply I started looking for the 'reply' button that others have talked about.  Now granted I am a very uneducated man but surely I could find a simple word like reply!!  Finally after giving up I closed the thread and there it was marked clear as it could be............. the thread had been closed!!!!  Now that's just not right.  Nobody told me that someone would come along and close a thread.  Hummmm sounds like the work of a ex businessman, lawyer, and golfer!!   Anyhow Lee Ann if you or Larry read this what I would like to know about is a Digital Picture Frame.  Did your kids do this themselves and what kind of program did they use or did they send them off to have them done.  Also to anyone who knows about these things I have tons of old slides I would like to do that too also........ any suggestions?

Thanks for any help,
Billy

Billy,
try clicking this for a digital picture frame at Amazon.com. There are many models available online and at Circuit City, Ritz Cameras, WalMart and the like.
Converting slides to digital to be used in a digital picture frame is another issue. Buy a slide scanner (maybe $500) and do them yourself or send them off to be scanned (about $0.40 each).

RV Dude,

Thanks a bunch.  I have been away from the puter for a few days but am headed now to Amazon to see what they have.  So if you send a slide off will they come back on a DVD or CD and who does this type service?

Billy

The services will scan slides or negatives in any format (jpg, gif, png, etc.) you want in any resolution you want and provide the scans on CD, DVD, or just download from their web site. Google something like "35mm slide convert" for a plethora of providers. I have my own scanner but when I needed to scan some 2,000 of my dad's slides the folks at www.slidescanning.com, Brent Larsen was the gentleman's name, did a fantastic job. They, of course, have the automatic feeding slide scanners and use Nikon equipment. My personal Nikon scanner is only manual feed - hence the need for this service. It is worth it to opt for the premium or "clean up" service. It'll cost a few cents more but will digitally remove scratches and improve color if your slide are old.
