Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well the youngest of 7 children is graduating Saturday and we are finally going full time. Hopefully we will be out of here the week after Memorial Day. A few kinks in our plan which has been limited to some serious RVing for the last 4 years and retirement 2 years ago but we are getting out of the blocks. Flexibility is the key to our life with 7 kids.
The youngest is graduating but decided not to go away to university for now. The financial advantages of paid tuition for good students in New Mexico Universities and the option of using the house with a couple of roommates seems to outweigh the opportunity to go away and build up some serious student loan debt. Oh well, we will be keeping the house for a few more years. That means moving out but having some serious storage available for a while so we are clearing our a lot of stuff but keeping much more than we need in storage. Talk about trust - college students living in your house! We are coming to grips with it.
Our Cedar Creek 5th wheel is always packed and ready to go so we have had a little to do to get it ready for full time but not as much as most. It has been in use for about 300 of the last 450 days so you wouldn't expect much. Mostly we are replacing the house batteries and looking to find a good tankless air compressor.
Remaining flexible, our #3 son is to be married in Seattle June 28, so we will fly up for about 10 days for all of the celebration. Luckily my sister lives in the area so we will just house in their 5th wheel for most of the time. Too far to go for now with our rig and the current gas prices.
So we will spend a good deal of the summer a Lake Heron State Park and the rest in Cloudcroft both in NM until the dust settles. Then we will be meandering for a while before ending up in Abilene for Christmas and graduation of the new daughter in law.
And so the adventure begins after years of planning. Larry and Jacki

Try not to worry about the house or the "stuff" that you will have in storage. Life's too short, and in the end, everything will work out.
Enjoy!!

Congrats and welcome aboard, those are good words from Jim and Randy & Terry. In the end your children will do the right thing because you did your very best at raising them. As for the Dust Settling, I think that one may take some time, but don't let it cloud your vision to be a full timer. All the Best. Gummy

Hi Larry & Jacki, As former N.M. residents we are still missing the state, while traveling up the Ca. coast for now. We will return to N.M. this fall for dr. visits. We want to wish you the best in your plans. Camping at Heron and Cloudcroft is nice and we love that area. southwestjudy
Congraulations to you guys for all you have worked for and in the raising of 7 children. Wow, what else can one say, but that you deserve to hit the road.
We look forward to keeping up with your adventures. Join us some evening during chat time.

After surving two yard sales, a high school graduation and graduation party, and a cruise (well that was a much needed vacation), we are out on the road. We didn't go far so that we could be able to get to the upcoming wedding. Cloudcroft is cool and comfortable and we are enjoying the quiet walks and mountain air.
So I gues we have to say we made it to fulltime status. Where that will lead us is anyones guess!

It took us over a month from when we moved into our RV to when we were able to travel far from the house. But when we left we headed across the country to New England. Enjoy Cloudcroft and splurge on a breakfast or lunch at The Lodge, just because.

We love to eat at Rebecca's in the Lodge. It is one of the best places to eat in southern NM. We are celebrating in the cool mountains while Las Cruces is in the high 90's. I guess it will be a while before we get far away from the old homestead, we still have 3 children in town.
Thanks for the recommendation. Larry and Jacki
