Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
If you can go to google and see what an author Carol Ray wrote about her tails of rv'ing. Be sure to read "A Step Back In Time" but go to how to fit a watermellon in an RV. www.beginningrvers.com/deltastory.htm southwestjudy
On my Winnebago Journey, I have three Group 27 12 volt house batteries. I woud like to install some solar panels on the roof. Using the recommended rule of thumb, I should use 50 watts of panel for each battery. So with what I have, I should only use 150 watts of panel. Against the rule of thumb, I'd lik...

I plan to leave Sat morning Dec.14, traveling west on I-40. I am thinking of stopping at Timberline CG in Lebanon TN the first night. That would be a total of about 300+ miles the 1st day. The CG is just about a mile from the interstate, so it shouldn't be a problem getting in and out. I am looking for some...
I see there are three messages for me that I cannot find on this site anywhere. I got this in my mail but when clicked on there are no messages for me at that URL there. Please don't use this "private message" thing as I can't find them here - use my email address below. Hi, RanCar, Howard has se...
Thanks to all who have ever discussed satellite internet vs. using an air card on this forum and other RV forums. After reading your posts for a few months, I made the decision to go with a Verizon air card and wireless router setup. I just received my air card and equipment from 3G Store.com last night...
OK, here's a stupid question. I've seen Howard mention a couple of times that there may be private messages, or a personal inbox, somewhere for forum members. For the life of me, I can't find it. Does anybody know where it is/how to get to it?
Thanks,
Tim & Robyn Fansler
This is a message I posted on the Nu-Way forum this morning. I would really appreciate any advice you might have. *** I recently bought a 2004 HH II from a private seller, who has not used it very much and currently has a Class C. She said that since she hadn't done the hitching/unhitching very often, an...
Some posts on this and other RV forum sites have inadvertantly provided incorrect information about registering RVs, CDL reguirements, and tax information for the State of Texas. As an RV owner who lives in this state and who has been thru all the processes, I'd like to assist with some correct inf...
Does anyone do anything special to move when the temperatures are below freezing? Just wondering since the heat won't be on in the trailer and the inside of the trailer is bound to be colder moving down the road than if it was sitting still.
We left later in the day than we wanted to on Tuesday before Thanksgiving and hit really bad traffic. A two hour journey turned into 4 hours of bumper to bumper traffic. This was our first experience towing with the new truck in this kind of traffic. However, we had a pleasant surprise when we filled up t...
Hi All I recently talked to a few people who mentioned that they have usedcemetaries to pull into to spend the night. They said it was the safest place to stay. Sounds a bit creepy to me.I was wondering if anyone has ever tried it or even heard about this?I just had to ask ThanksDixie
When on geocaching.com I tried to download the coordinates for caches in my area, but geocaching.com says it does not support Magellan GPS, only Garmin. Now what? Do I have to input the info by hand??
I have mentioned that we will be in Aransas Pass on a fishing trip with our friends Ken and Char from Kerrville on Jan. 15-19th or so. (open ended departure pending fishing conditions, weather and other factors). Any of the "Dreamers" who are in the area during that time please let us know a...
Heading for Silver City NM to look around. Then will head to our favorite drycamping spots in the beautiful Sonoran Desert in AZ. Eventually will be in Anza Borego, CA. More great "free" camping. It will be so great to have a change of scenery after a busy summer schedule. Kelly --...
A month or so ago I decided to create a blog so friends and family could see where I am or have been. I liked the blog at first--it seemed easy to set up--but then I tried to load some pictures. Every one that I loaded went to the top and I had to slowly move it down to where I wanted it. Took a lot of time and patien...

Ok, I need to vent a little and I hope you don't mind. We were supposed to leave Dec 2, but I decided I wanted a new lap top before we left. I tried to order from two different companies only to be told (after I called them back) the my credit card was denied. I called my credit card company and found that th...
We ordered our new 5th wheel today. We have been looking and going to RV Shows for several months now and finally decided what we wanted. Then we had to decide on the little things...like options. We were going to order sometime this month, but our Dealer called us today from the National RV Show in Louis...
I've been researching all I can about conversion of a dual HDT rear to a single for towing a 5th. I haven't seen anything about people purchasing a stock single axle HDT so they wouldn't have to mess with having a conversion done. Can anyone offer any input on why most don't just but a stock single axle HDT...

Was wondering how in the heck RV'ers are cooking their Thanksgiving turkeys? When hubby & I are out looking at 5th wheels & motorhomes and I open the oven I wonder...hmmm.. don't think I will be baking a turkey in there! I know there are deep fryers out there, and in my opinion they make one great...
I didn't see anywhere to post about tips on handling pets while fulltiming. I am sure there are lots of tips I will need to know when I fulltime with my 3 Chihuahuas. I appreciate any input.

With the way the stock market is bouncing around like a beach ball in a hurricane, what are you doing with your investments. Like many I'm diversified in stocks, mutual funds, bonds and other IRA allowed investments. Lately I've been watching my retirement account dwindle to the point where I'm afr...
