Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Has anyone heard of or done business with www.discountrvfurniture.com? They are located in AZ. We are contemplating replacing our two captain's chairs and sofas. I've called and got a quote and they ship anywhere. Just wondering about the quality. We have an older motorhome and I've never cared fo...
I remember reading a blog about a couple volunteering in the gulf coast. They were working, setting up barriers to protect marsh land from the expected incoming oil. Now I can't find it again. Anyone have any ideas?
The plan right now is that three weeks from today we will be at a local RV park settling in for a couple of weeks. During that time, we will commute back to the office to train/transition in the new resident management team. Tomorrow, if the weather is decent, I plan to make a start at moving things like di...
Anyone from the RV Dreams community going to the Americade in Lake George NY this year?? I know it's kinda late notice as the Americade starts on Monday 6/7. If anyone is coming up, shoot me a email or just respond.....the motorcycling community is awesome....
Next week we will be traveling South on Interstate 81 through Virginia to Rte 64 East which appears to cross over the Blue Ridge Mts. to Gordonsville, VA. Anyone know of any issues for motorhomes along this route? Thanks!
I am very close to pulling the plug and retiring and wonder if the SBP (survivor benefit program) is worth the money that would be taken out of your pension. For non military folks, the SBP is a sort of a life insurance program where 6.5% of your pension is paid to a program so that if the military retiree pa...
Driving my 31 foot Class C with our Chevy Aveo on a tow dolly from Little Bennett County park near Fredericksburg, MD to my uncles 90th BD party in Leesburg, VA, I was blindly following the GPS when it routed me to White's Ferry over the Potomac. I thought, ok, no problem, then when I got around the bend to...
This may not be the proper spot but just needed to chat. First of all, let me say, they we picked up our 5er last Friday and towed the 115 miles to a park near our home to set it up. All went great. It towed beautifully and no strain on the truck. We love it and can't wait to move in. We put it in a park so we cou...
Does anyone use MaxBrake or BrakeSmart, If so what do you think of it? Would you recommend it? Is there anything else on the market that works better or as good. How do these products compare to the Jake Brake or one of the other products that are comperable to the JB? Is the MaxBrake made to be used in p...
There hasn't been a new post in this section for a while. Has everyone stopped eating? It's getting into BBQ season so here is something to add as a starter or side to you BBQ dish. Jalapeno Poppers: 1- If you don't like them real hot, putting peppers in the fridge for 3-4 days will remove most of the hot. 2...
With Memorial Day coming up, I just want to say thank you to all of you current and former service men and women out there. I myself served four years in the United States Marine Band in Washington D.C. from 1968 to 1972, so I've never considered myself in the same ranks as those of you who have actually s...

We finally can officially say we are full timers. Handed the keys to the apartment in on Saturday - no more rent! Though we need to stay in our area until we both retire in August we still are living in our RV full time. Actually we only spent one night in the apartment since April and that was only due to a tor...
Hi Everyone, I have been lurking and time to introduce myself. My husband and I are looking forward to full-timing in three years. Finding this site to be so informative. So many of my questions have been answered. I would like to ask a question. I want to purchase an electric tongue jack and confu...
We are slowly but surely getting rid of our STUFF. Useless STUFF that we have hung on to because it is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it, way of thinking!!!!!!! It is a hard habit to break! We have owned a guesthouse, a catering company and inherited a house full of STUFF...
I'm sure this has been covered many times but I did a search and came up with only 6 topics that didn't really answer my question. I am looking to get a Wilson booster. I have talked (well through email) with 2 separate places and I am more confused that I was when I started doing research. I have a LG CU400 an...

Accidentely posted this in the "Introduce Yoursefl" forum..... Our Turn for a Hiccup!Reply QuoteEdit Post At least I hope it's only a hiccup. You may have seen our earlier post that we sold our S&B in 5 days!! The OMG OMG OMG post! We were supposed to close on June 4th, but the reviewer...
Has anyone used DirecTV's high-speed internet service? We currently use Verizon's MiFi Mobile Hotspot which works well, but it would be nice to get service right along with our tv reception. Can it be used traveling down the road (we have an in-motion dome satellite dish)? Thanks for your thought...
Hi Everyone! Well, after several months of reading and enjoying multiple blogs, I have taken the next step and started my own. I actually started it a couple weeks ago, but I had to work my way up to putting it out there for public viewing! LOL It's sorta kinda an RV blog, because ummm, well - we don't actu...
I brought my new Rhinoflex sewer hose home today and while I was in the shop admiring it's sturdy appearance I found myself expanding and collapsing the hose while it produced differant sounds. I knew I was in trouble when I started putting ends on it to see if I could make even more sounds and started...
Hi. Although I've had cell phones since the only ones available were in a briefcase, (am I old, or what?)I'm afraid the technology has gotten away from me Since we are not yet full-timing, we haven't considered Direct TV for our current use just a few times a month. We will be on the road most of the sum...
It happened! We closed on our S&B house today, and we have the check in the bank. It actually happened. After having our home on the market for about a year with 2 failed offers, the third time was the charm. It wasn't an easy journey, but we have finally realized the dream. We are living in our RV a...
We are getting ready to make the move to a motor home. We've lived on a 200 sq foot houseboat before - but since then we've aquired lots of stuff. When my husband took early retirement (after being laid off) friends offered to sell us a double wide mobile home on their farm in North Dakota at a "bar...
Anyone been there.. it reads like a nice place.. we are going to be in the area and I was wondering if it would be a good place to stop .. we like kakaying ...patti
I haven't stopped by this forum in months. I'll be moving from Colorado to northern Illinois within the next couple of weeks. Let me know if you will be in the way, or is that along the way.
I have a 2008 Designer 36RLTS. I washed my rig last week. In the process I washed the cap - it was particularly dirty so I spot washed the heavy dirt and bug splats with "Marine Spray Nine" multi purpose cleaner. My cap has now lost its lustre and shine (it is clean). It appears to have a film on it...
