Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have a verizon talk plan, I bought a cradlepoint ctr500 router, got online and instead of the page I wanted a page from verizon came up asking me to accept terms for mobile broadband at $49.99 -is there a cheaper way?
We're setting out on September 13th which happily isn't a Friday. First trip is kayaking down the eastern seaboard with the goal of being in Largo Florida by early October for a 90th birthday party. Only problem is I can't find any campgrounds near Largo or St. Petersburg where we could be for 4 days...
Horrible flood came through a State park during the night, up to 40 campers missing. Prayers for the families and campers, google RV news, or i left a link at the news page on our blog, Gene

We are Karen and Bob and will be entering the full time life sometime between Dec 2012 and Dec 2013 depending on how the pension and financial numbers work out. We are the proud parents of 3 boys, 2 are enlisted in the Coast Guard, and 1 is still with us finishing his bachelors degree (3 classes to go). We we...
Hello all, My name is Chris and my wife’s name is Lori. We have been working towards fulltiming for about 2 years now. The only thing holding us (like many others) is the sale of my late mother’s house and our own. We have been reading the journal for a little of a year now. The wife and I have different appro...
Has anyone camped in the Vegas or surrounding areas during December? We are thinking of picking our sons up in Vegas and then spending Christmas somewhere there about. I've been checking park reviews and the state and National Parks sites but wondered if anyone had any experience to relate or places...
Hello, I am new here so please bear with me. This subject may have been addressed before. I bought a 1995 fleetwood wilderness travel trailer. There was the black streaks down the sides. I lightened them up by problably 90% on 3 sides using purple power and a brush. It hardly even changed the back. I took...
We bought a 1999 Holiday Rambler Vacationer. On a 600-mile trip we topped some hills at 23 mph. The coach is a Ford chassis with a V-10. Is this to be expected? And what can I expect in the mountains? More important, coming back, the coach ran hot. From 210 degrees to 242 degrees. Did I buy a lemon or what can...
Has anyone heard of "Trucks Stop Plus"?? It is a template add on to Microsoft's Streets and Trips. My hubby found it on the internet, as we were thinking of buying the newer version of Streets and Trips. Any input would be apprecitated.....
I've spent most of today checking values of the 5 or 6 motorhomes we're looking at. In the possible equipment list on several garbage disposals are listed. Is it feasible to install one in a motorhome??? I can understand not wanting to use one unless hooked up to full hook-ups, but we have a brand n...
I have our winter/heavy clothes in space bags. Wondering about storing them in suitcase in the 5er basement. Basement is ducted. Wondering how the clothes will do re: moisture, not getting "funky." Experiences? Comments? Thanks to all!
We dream about living in USA for 2 -3 years with periodic visits home. This is a pretty wild dream because we are already in our 70s and we have some family responsibilities keeping us here in NZ. In the meantime we will travel with you as we read your Blogs ....... that's if you don't mind us looking over y...
First of all we want to congratulate all that have been able to realize their Dream! We have had our house on the market now for going on 5 months. We have had only 5 or 6 walkthroughs, kind of discouraging to say the least. Saturday we got our 2010 property tax appraisal, more discouragement. The...
It's aproximately a six month count down until I too will join the rest of you folks. I'm thilled to find this forum because of the plethora of questions I have and will have. Currently, I am getting all the little medical things that I've put off...taken care of. And liquidating my household via e-b...

A few people have lost long posts while previewing or in the process of posting. I know how frustrating that can be, so I'll try to help here. First of all, I don't have a clue where those things go. If the post does not show up in the Forum under the topic you were in, they are just gone. I can'...

These links came to me recently. They are to a Denver Post “article” which included a number of WWII photos. There are a lot of pictures, so you may want to view them when you have a fair bit of time. Some of the photos are pretty graphic. All are vintage photos. This first link is to a tribute upon the 65th an...
Hi everyone I have been reading post for awhile and decided to introduce myself as today the journey offically starts. We just put our home on the market and will be buying a motorhome shortly for full time RVing. I am retired but still work part time just to keep busy and my wife also works part time I have...
We have pretty much decided that a motorhome is best for us. We're doing this on a budget - so we're looking at used rigs and have 3 in mind right now but we're having trouble with dimensions, descriptions, and definitions. We lived over 2 years on a 200 sq foot houseboat, the "house" dimensi...
Verizon is selling the Motorola Droid for $199.99 with 2 yr contract or contract extension. Granted I think they are offering a Buy One, Get One Free deal. But I just saw that phone at Walmart for Verizon service selling for $98.88. If I only want one phone, is there any reason not to buy it at Walmart?
