Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi everyone! It's been a hectic, crazy, exciting, terrifying while since my last post, but with good reason: we've completely made the transition to full-time RVing, including spending the next 5 1/2 months in the States over the winter!!! What a journey, in every possible meaning of that phrase.
We moved into our RV May 2, and spent the next six months living in our new home within our home community of Watrous and neighbouring Manitou Beach during the summer. I continued my part-time job as school secretary and hubby Robin worked on the grounds at the local golf course until August, then harvested for a farmer until mid-October. November 1, we crossed the border into the States, and outran the winter storm that chased us all the way through North and South Dakota and almost into Kansas!
After a week on the road, we arrived at Heart of Texas RV Resort outside Burnet, TX, on the shore of the Colorado River connecting a string of lakes, starting with Lake Buchanan. What an incredibly beautiful area! We had no idea; typical Saskatchewanites who thought Texas was all desert and sagebrush ;)
Our life is truly a dream come true; daily, we look at each other in disbelief. This is our amazing, exciting, adventurous journey - and it's only just begun. We are thrilled to join all of you already nodding your heads in agreement, knowing exactly of what I write :)
Hey ... welcome to Tejas! You are getting close to our neck of the woods ...we’re in Castroville, TX for the winter. If you get close to San Antonio, give. Us a shout, love to meet you!

Ron and Janice, we are spending Dec. 10 to Jan. 10 at the Alsatian, partly because of your posts about the resort! Give us a day or two to get settled in, and we will look you up. It'll be great to meet another 'dreamer'!

Great ... there is an on-site restaurant (Juliana’s) which is pretty good. Maybe dinner one evening?

Love the sounds of getting together; we don't eat out much (dietary restrictions) but saying hello over coffee/pop/****tails would be great to begin with! We are really looking forward to seeing the area and finding out about San Antonio - perhaps you know more than we do and can point us in all the right directions :)
Dianne and Steve, always wonderful to hear from fellow Canadians! Thanks for the well wishes. I look forward to poking around on your blog - the quick look I had was intriguing. We are heading into Arizona from February 10 - April 13, in the Mesa and Parker areas. Your landscape shots are gorgeous - we can't wait to see the area for ourselves!
We lived in SA for 25 years ... glad to offer tourist suggestions. One of our sons lives near here so that’s a part of the draw back to SA each year (grandkids). You’ll like SA. Look forward to meeting you guys!

We're right down the street from you at the Inks Lake state park. We'll be here until January, park hosting at the state park. We'd love to meet for a meal or something to drink at your convenience. PM for contact info.
