Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I finally finished my evaluation of the Pepwave Surf OTG. This is a cellular router that also has WiFi as WAN. Or, as I typically think of these Pepwave devices - this is a wifi capture device that ALSO now has cellular modem capabilities. You can find the review on my website here. Just scroll down sligh...
I recently bought, during what my DW swears was a moment of insanity, a fairly sophsticated remote controlled model helicopter. My thinking was that it would be a fun "toy" to take along when traveling in the RV. After all, I am a FAA qualified airplane and helicopter pilot so how hard co...
We are sailors about to "swallow the hook" and move from cruising on a boat to a land yacht of sorts. We will be asking questions about: - Truck campers (slide ins) - Best trucks to use for slide-ins. - Best print media publications for R/Ving (as we write for sailing magazines, we would like...
There may be something here about this, but I haven't found it. How do you fulltimers store potatoes in your RV? My wife doesn't like to store them in the fridge.
In reading posts on this forum and others, many people indicate that 5th wheels have more space than motorhomes. Does the interior height of a 5th wheel differ from the interior height of a motorhome? If so, how is this accomplished? Is there less under carriage storage space in a 5th wheel?
Question(s):in "real life" can two people whom have no concept of what it would be like in real life to "go off the grid" survive?.. Answer:so far.... so good...... Retiring from a "high pressure International "corporate " job....after 31 years, found...
Crazy times! We have a contract on our house in the Dallas, TX area. Closing is scheduled for November 28th. We've reserved a spot for our '98 36ft Holiday Rambler Vacationer, where we will ride out the winter in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area until wife retires. She can do so in December, but is going...
Update on the 2012 Chevy 3500HD, ordered the Duraflaps (mud flaps) and mounted them yesterday. The 2012 now is complete, I always run the Duraflaps, which have the Reining Horse stainless steel on the bottom. I had to make some changes to fit the CM Hauler Bed. Will post a pic when the Sun returns...
Just heard on tonight's news that verizon customers are going to be charged $2.00 each time they pay their bill online. I guess it's cheaper for them if you mail in a check....go figure. So the bottom line is you're being charged to pay your bill These added fees that keep coming up are a bit much!
I recently received an email from someone that has an iAntenna and LinkGauge from RV2Internet.com He was very enthusiastic about his increased Wi-Fi capabilities. So I just wanted to see if anyone else out there has this product or what our techies might think about it. If the response is good, don...

I have a customer who is having problems receiving the 82 satellite for Bell Express Vu in the S. US. I am looking for anyone who actually have the BEV service, where you are located and whether you can or cannot pick up 82. The type of antenna you are using would also be helpful.
We have a 40' Prairie Schooner with 2 slides, hauled with a 2005 F350 Club Cab with 8' bed, and I am trying to figure out how to carry 2 - 12' kayaks. The 5er is 12'6" to the top of the front Air Conditioner so maybe on top in the rear, but would rather not put any more weight, or movement on the top than ness...
Starting this topic so the generator postioning topic doesn't get to derailed.. I am planning on carrying my honda clone (chinese 3000 iu) in the pickup bed but want to wire it to the 5'er. What I plan on is running a cable from the rear of the rv- where the breaker panel is, to the hitch. Its a straig...
We are new to this forum and here I am on Christmas day telling you about our efforts to buy our first MH. We are EXCITED to say the least. We have always been RV people, but all our RV's were 5ers. Now close to retirement (1-2 years) we decided to look at class A's. My current boss has a 2006 National Trop-Cal...
I received a new Asus tablet for Christmas but I am unable to view the forum in the same format as I do on my lap top. Everytime I click onto the forum it forwards me to "active board". Can anyone tell me why?
CHRIST THE SAVIOR IS BORN!!! Quite simply put, this brings the joy and love of God to everyone on this earth. Merry Christmas and a warm and happy new year to all!
Hi everyone, We are a family of 7 (me, my boyfriend, his daughter, and our 4 dogs) that is ready to hit the road! I am a middle school Math teacher and my BF and I also own an advertising magazine. I have been trying to find an all-telecommunicating job that will support our life on the road, but haven't had a...
I know generator positioning has been discussed before in this forum, but here is something I didn't find an answer for: I would like to buy 2 Hondas EU2000i, and place them in the space under the gooseneck (for further noise reduction), but someone said it's not possible. Why? Would it make sense to pl...
I'm sorry that this is a few hours early, but while we will be out of town on Christmas Day and away from our computer, I find it necessary to offer the wishes of both Jo and I that you all have a very Merry Christmas.I also offer my gratitude to all of you who have been a major part of our research and choosing o...
My husband and I would like to buy our first TT, we've been tenting and as kids we both had pop ups. Anyway, I've finally found one that looks like it may fit us, it's a 2004 Sun Valley Road Runner. We'd like to get about 10 years out of it (we camp 3-5 weeks/summer). The unit I found is a previous rental unit, d...
I just went and read Howards blog for yesterday. In it he discusses Christmas gifts for RVers and the Weight program is mentioned. He commented that some people won't "cough up" the $60 for an individual wheel weight..... This is absolutely the best thing you could do with ANY RV. EVERY S...
We're planning to buy a 39-42 5th wheel for full time RVing. In looking at suspension options, I thought that I would definitely go with the Mor/Ryde IS. However, tonight I was on the Dexter Axle website researching brakes and saw they had an axle called the Dexter Airflex, which is a hybrid torsion/ai...
To all,
I've just started using this forum, and in creating a post I see an entry box at the bottom labeled Tags. Is this used to facilitate searches or what? Are there any standardized tags in use on the forum? If so, where can I find the list?
I've searched the forum for an answer but I didn't find anyth...
