Please socialize your dog before bringing it to a campground K9 park
(Preview)
I've been traveling a year now with no issues, but in this camp, at least two dog owners have brought their animals to the large K9 park, announced their (boxer and a terrier) were "not really socialized" and then let them off leash to have a go at my Australian Shepherd. Now she is big enough to defend he...

Dog crating inside a small RV

I'm new to the RV world and have an eight month old rescue lab/husky mix that was abandoned as a tiny pup on a roadside. She sometimes has serious abandonment issues and has to be kept crated at home when we're away. I'm traveling solo with her most of the time and attempted to leave her uncrated for a sho...

Cats in your tow vehicle - what kind of carrier do you use?
(Preview)
As I take this journey of 5th wheel versus Class A, I am trying to visualize a day on the road. For those of you with 5th's, what kind of cat carrier/crate do you use to house your cat safely and comfortably? It seems to me the typical small cat carrier would not fit the bill over more than a day of travel. Th...

Pets in National Parks in the U.S.

We love our National Parks but hate their Pet Policies. Our dog loves to walk with us and we get an extreme case of the guilts when we have to leave her in the car to walk even a short section of a trail in our National Parks; those sad, sorrowful eyes ruin the hike for me. It's generally too hot to leave a pet s...

Pitbulls in RVs?

I'm thinking when I hit the road full time, it might be good to get a dog, and as a single woman traveling alone, it might be good to get a "real" dog vs a "toy" dog. Most dogs up for adoption around here are either chihuahuas or pitbulls, and considering those options....
