Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello, all I hope to be a fulltimer in the next 3 months and as I am making out my budget I wanted to get some input on what i should put for Maint./Repairs. I have a 02 coachman tt that has been used less then a month all together.. I also have a 96 f350 7.3 powerstroke in excellent condition. My Brother owns a...
Hi everybody. It's been a long time since I had a question to ask here. We are now fulltiming and having a ball. But something has come up and we need some help. We love poached eggs but the hassle keeps us from having them very often. We bought a good egg poaching pan with six egg trays from a culinary supply...

Out of sheer boredom I did some Google searches today, finally winding up doing some searches on members of my family - kind of preliminary geneology stuff - when Lo and behold I found some links to posts here on the RV-Dreams forum. Be careful of posting personal information. As much as it seems like we...
We are considering purchasing a 2007 Cameo 35KS3 and have some concerns. If any one out there has one of these your input would be greatly appreciated. Our 1st. concern is will my GMC 2500 HD Diesel with Allison Tranny pull this? We are getting mixed messages from dealers and would really like to hear f...
I'm headed to Idaho in a couple weeks. After we get to Denver, we're going to be in the look-see mode for the last 5 days of travel. We've done most of CO except north of Denver. Would appreciate any suggestions on what to see and do north of Denver, along the southern part of WY, into northeast corner o...
Does anyone have any experience with this RV Dealer? How does one go about checking out the reputation of a dealer, espcially if you are 1500 miles apart. Their prices seem too good to be true even on the new units, we are specifically looking at 5th wheels. Susan
Click on the link to see a toter rig that this family custom built. Total cost, including the HDT, as less than $70,000. They used a factory built cargo body as the shell for the coach. Absolutely awesome job! Top quality craftsmanship and they got exactly the truck they wanted/needed. It cost much les...
Just wanted to pass on a lesson learned. From day one of towing our 5th wheel, I was never happy with the performance of the brakes on the fifth wheel trailer. I've towed it with two different trucks, using brake controllers connected to the trucks brake system. Used the right adaptors specified...
I have seen references to using a black spray paint/rust inhibitor. The hitch in my truck bed has rust in several places, and it seems to be spreading so I know I must do something soon. How do I treat it, i.e., what do I use to sand the rust down, and what kind of paint/rust treatment should I use? Does th...
Hi we are Wayne and Sharon, We're looking at class A's for our retirement in 2.5 years. But not leaving out 5ers. We'll be going to shows and dealers. Our last camper was a Jayco 28' TT. We camped for about 20 years while the kids where at home. Kids moved away so when we retire we'll fulltime. Really e...
Hi! David and I are in the process of getting our house ready to put on the market and move into our 31' TT. We had originally planned to begin this next journey in our lives in 2012 when we both retired. However, the state of the economy has caused us to lose our jobs and we decided that the old cliche "i...

We are dreaming of trading our 22' Fleetwood Evolution E3 travel trailer in for a Heartland Cyclone 39' 5th wheel. We have an F-350 quad cab, long bed truck (about 22'). I'm trying to understand how much longer our whole rig will be with the new camper on a 5th wheel instead of the hitch mount. Can anyb...
Just wanted to say that we are working this summer at the Branson Lakeside RV Park in Branson Missouri and if any RV-Dreamers make travels up this way be sure to stop by and say Hello. Need to get me a RV-Dreams hat one of these days...
Hello! We are in the process of renting out our home and moving fulltime into our 31' travel trailer. Partly because of the need to be closer to work - the hour+ drive everday in North Texas traffic is awful! Also, we hope to be fulltime in the next couple of years and think this is a good way to start off....
Hey everyone, thought I would give out a 'shout'.....we are currently at the skp park (North Ranch) in Congress AZ. Our lot number is 25 and we will be here til around April 1 or 2. It is a big park, so any other dreamers out there give us a 'shout' back or better yet come for a visit. Our rig has a big Americ...
Our field here at the Balloon Fiesta Field looks like Quartsite, they predicated 5000 Rv'ers and I think they have all landed. We are parked with the D or Doubletree Rvers in the dirt parking lot high on the hill, overlooking the field. All we see are white roof tops! Hoping to meet some RV-Dreamers. so...
This is a Duracell 1500 watt inverter I have been looking at. I need to know if this would run my computers and my TV if I put it in the outside bay area and plugged them up directly to the inverter box. I know I will need to get two more batteries which will give me a total of three. I have a gen to recharge system...
I recently posted about how the hundreds of photos on my desktop system might be slowing down the computer. I decided to move them all to CD's, as I had been advised that CD's are a much more permanent storage solution than are flash drives. In my eagerness to get started I bought 100 CD's plus cases thi...
While I've posted on another topic about my slow-as-molasses system, I'm beginning to wonder if it has something to do with loading photos, such as I do to my blog, plus I keep lots of them in folders on my desktop. I have taken all the steps I can think of - clear many of the cookies, defrag system, run dis...
I thinking about purchasing a tire pressure montoring system however I'm not sure which one to purchase Pressure Pro or Hopkins. From what I read both systems do the same thing. The only difference I see is the price. Pressure Pro is 130.00 more than Hopkins. Hopkins comes with the monitor and 6 sens...

Greetings everyone. Been fulltime living in our fiver for 12 years up here in the cold north. Worked our way up from a small fifth wheel to a large one over the years. I still work and also have a 14 year old at home, so for the most part we park at my business during the winter months and then have a seasona...
Everywhere I read it seems really important to have dual pane windows. But, if you buy a used unit without them, can you have them installed without mych problem? Cost? And if you buy new should you assume they have them or are they an optional feature on most units?
I have been on Cruise America's website looking at RVs and was wondering if anyone here has done business with them and would you recommend buying an RV from them.
We are currently workcamping at the YMCA of the Ozarks in Potosi, MO and were asked this morning if we knew of a couple available for maintenance and registration. The available position is actually for the property next door which is a corporate owned lake front campground. In addition to full h...
