Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Retirement is finally here

Well one more step toward our fulltime adventure is accomplished.Thursday April 9th was my last day at work.Yahoo. My employer for the last 27 years and all my fellow employees and friends sent me off with a great barbeque and a "ROAST" along with some great parting gifts. I will miss Atmos Energy Company but can't wait to begin the rest of our lives. Next step is getting our Home and property sold,( still a decent market here ). See you on the road.

Well I see we have the same taste in trucks...I am 49 days behind you but I am sure it will be here before I know it. Sherri and I wish you all the luck in the world selling that house. We were fortunate in that we put ours on the market before the slump. It sold in about 4 months and we were free to leave...however....I was still working but we did move into the RV and have lived in it for the last 3 years. Hope to meet you on the road some time

Joe and Sherri

Good luck to you selling your boat anchor, I mean your S&B! Ours has been on the market since before the first of the year and we haven't even got one offer yet - not even a ridiculous one we could laugh at! The property values are still relatively high in this area (not many repos), but few can get financing. The ones that can seem to be waiting for the market to hit bottom before jumping in. If she doesn't sell when the listing expires, I'm thinking of trying to sell it myself, and dropping the price by 5% ( the agent's commission.)

Welcome to the board. If you have any luck, let us know!

Congratulations on your retirement!  Hope you sell your house soon.  We are in kind of the same position...DH retired in December and we are busy getting our house ready to put on the market, hopefully within the next month.  Amazing amount of stuff to get rid of after 20 years in the same house...it is pretty overwhelming at times but will all be worth it in the end!  Maybe we wil meet on the road some day.

We're also in the same boat in selling the condo.  We've had one showing in 20 days which gives us a feeling there's SOMEONE that is looking.  Good luck in selling and be sure to let us know when you're on the way.

Congratulations!! We'll soon follow. I have 47 more days to work. DH retired Feb 1. Thankfully, our youngest son is buying the house so we only have to clear it out and have a few garage sales. We will begin our new life on the road mid-September. Maybe we'll catch up with each other somewhere.
