Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Getting Ready to go Fulltime

Hello!  We are in the process of renting out our home and moving fulltime into our 31' travel trailer.  Partly because of the need to be closer to work - the hour+ drive everday in North Texas traffic is awful!  Also, we hope to be fulltime in the next couple of years and think this is a good way to start off.

We lived fulltime for 6 months in our 40' mh until some health issues forced us to move back into our home and sell the mh.  So we are defintely ready to get started again.  Right now we are checking out RV parks in the DFW area that are close to my work and startign to get rid of accumulated "stuff" again.

Joe is already retired from a 26 year career in the Navy, and Meg is still working for another 2-3 years.  We look forward to meeting others on this forum!

Welcome to the forum, Joe & Meg. We have some of the friendliest & most encouraging folks here, to cheer you on towards fulfilling your dream. Let us know how things are going, ok?

And thank you for your service, Joe. My father served in the Navy during WW2.

Welcom Joe and Meg,

Your story sounds similier to ours. We have a contract on the house and are having our last garage sale this week-end to finish getting rid of "stuff". We moved into the 5er on March 15th and will have to stay local for the time being because of our jobs. Good luck to you guys and hope to see you on the road sometime. Feel free to follow along on our journey via the link to our blog in our signature.

Well Joe and Meg...Sherri and I did the same thing 3 years ago when the gas prices went out of sight. I lived in Wills Point Texas at the time and was driving back and forth to work everyday in Dallas...very costly to say the least. We were planning on retireing at the end of May 2009 so we decided to go ahead put the house on the market and move into our 5th wheel. Well we have been here in town for 3 years now and soon will be on the road. I now only have a 12 minute drive to work vs the 1 1/2 hour drive 3 years ago. We have up graded our home on wheels and have enjoyed every minute of living fulltime in an RV. We know you will like it too and wish you all the luck...
Hope to meet you some time

Joe and Sherri

Thank you all for the welcome!  We are really looking forward to moving into the TT.  The realtor was out today and the sign is in the yard, even if we are only renting the house for now at least we will be moving towards our fulltiming goal.  Hopefully one day we will meet some of you as we head off down the road!
