Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I was wondering if anyone on the forum will be at the Redmond Rally. My wife and I went to the 2005 Rally in Redmond. We were put out in a dirt field along with about 5,000 others. To keep the dust down they used a water truck with turned the field to mud. However, the rally was great. The seminars were good and covered just about any topic you could think of, the vendors had everything you could imagine for RVing, and of course the new RV's were great to look at.
This year we are staying at Mt. View campground in Sisters and will be driving the 20 miles to the Rally. I understand this year all camping will be at the fair grounds.
I was wondering if anyone on the forum will be at the Redmond Rally.
We've been thinking about going to this rally. Any others out there who have been to it in the past? We're soon-to-be fulltimers and are soaking up as much info as possible. Would this be helpful?
I realized there are two big rallies in Redmond, OR this summer. The Good Sam/Coast-2-Coast/Camping World/Woodalls (Affinity Group) rally in July and then the FMCA one in August. We will be at the FMCA one. The FMCA one is only for motorhomes. Since the last Affinity rally in Redmond was in 2005 and the last FMCA one in 2004 I can figure out that Dick Nason is refering to the Affinity one.
It is good to know the seminars are good since I figured with Affinity Group involved I figured they would all be trying to sell me something and would give biased information.

Either way, why would you go to a place you knew there would be that many people crowded into a fairground for a week? Is this the size of typical RV rallies like Escapades, national owner rallies, etc?
The only huge rallies are the FMCA conventions and The Rally and both can get 4,000 to 7,000 RVs plus walk-ins. They are held at only a few places that have the room for them. Escapades are around 1,000 RVs and can be held at some fairgrounds. The 30th Birthday bash Escapade in July 2008 will be larger and will be held someplace with lots of room, the Camplex at Gillette, WY. The idea on these big events is to big enough to have many vendors and to have professional entertainment, anything smaller and they are mostly potlucks and getting together.

We attended both the Daytona Rally (Affinity Group) and the Charolette NC Rally (FMCA) . Even though there was around 4000 RVs they both went rather smooth. I'm not one for confusion and delay and there was very little at either rally. We are planning on attending the FMCA rally at Pamona in 08. Tom
