We can't wait! It's getting to crunch time now. Car is for sale, resignation from work happening next week. October 1 we will be heading out towards South Dakota to finish our last step to becoming SD residents. After that, the world (or at least the US) is our oyster! Thanks to all the support from fello...

Somehow we're down to 54 days until we hit the road full time. Needless to say, we have been incredibly busy going through all of our belongings, having garage sales, selling on Craig's List and giving to family and friends. Most of our furniture is gone and what is still here is spoken for. The house...

Hello What are, our options for filling the fresh water and dumping black water tanks, when on the road? Other than camp grounds of course. The renovations are almost complete on the 1999 fleetwood travel trailer. We take a shake down cruse in about two weeks.

Reading another site, I found that RV manufactures are going out of business and no one is buying the RVs. This is pretty depressing since we just decided to go FT in two years, and have yet to buy. What say you!

NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE FORUM TO ASK BUT: STARTING TO RESEARCH RV INSURANCE AND MAKING A LIST OF CONTACTS. WON'T NEED IT TIL MARCH 2012 BUT I BELIEVE IN EARLY RESEARCH. My hubby & I intend to start FTing in 2010. I like to think ahead, be prepared & have all my bases covered. So I'm trying to come up with a timeline from now to Fall 2010 with the major milestones of what needs to be done to go on the road. But I'm not really sure about what does need to be done when. ...

We are getting into the nitty-gritty of selling stuff. Went thru all our old papers last night to clean out and decide what I want to put in our small Firesafe for in the camper. I don't know if the housing market is improving or if we just got lucky. We listed the house for sale on Saturday and on Monday we had an offer. They were in here like locusts, consuming everything I owned. Sold all the beds, sofa's, bedroom suits, appliances more or less in one day. I am so excited! Bought our fiver yesterday!!! It is not a "million dollar baby" but it suits us and I fell in love with it! After looking at thousands....I was happy to finally find a nice well kept, clean unit in our humble price range and the best part was that it was fairly close to home....

So....we live in Michigan. Our plan is to go fulltime sometime this year, hopefully within the next 4-6 months. We have our Tow Vehicle and are now looking at used fiver's. So my question is: When do you think we should move our residency to SD? I was thinking before we buy the fiver so we don't have to...

I've done a bit of research on this and haven't found out that there's an obvious right answer. Connie and I will be going full time next summer. Well we are officially fulltimers, just not on the road yet. We closed on our house on Tuesday and moved into our 38 ft Big Country 5er.
