Dometic Online Parts Manuals
(Preview)
I ran across this today when looking for a parts list for our Dometic refrigerator. We added a shelf in the freezer and needed one little part to act as a sleeve or insert in the wall of the freezer. With this website, at least with the refrigerators, one needs a Model number (ours is the RM1350) and the Pro...

Anyone have experience with the screws that hold the metal strips that presumably hold the panels onto the unit either falling out, breaking off or just totally missing? The lower strip under the rear of the unit actually had every other screw missing, like never installed. The lower strip on the fr...

Does this indicate our surge protector is going out?
(Preview)
Four times in the last week, we temporarily lost power in the rig. The first two times we were at a campground and blamed in on their system. In those cases the surge protector would attempt to reset but then shut right down again. Both times we changed from 50 amp to 30 amp, and it stayed on. How...

Switching from shore power to generator
(Preview)
We are somewhat new to RV'ing, and in the past I always turned the power off at the breaker, unplugged, waited 3-5 min, and then started the generator. Is this necessary, or can I start the generator first and then unplug? Is there a "correct" way to do this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Generator won't start without chassis ignition switch on.
(Preview)
I have an Onan 7000 Marquis generator in our 31' Class A. I have 2 12v house batteries that show 12.6 volts each. Without the chassis ignition switch turned on, if I try to start the generator, it sounds like a dead battery, just clicks from the Onan starter. If I turn the chassis ignition switch on, the On...

Tires
(Preview)
It looks like we are getting a 5th wheel just as soon as we sell the house. My DH wanted me to ask which is better for tires. We are going to be living in the RV for awhile before we take it out on the road due to jobs. What is the best way to save on the tires? Jacking the RV off the ground and block it up, ok for it to s...

Tire Warranty Fun
(Preview)
Here's two weird occurances in one day.... Number One-I bought 4 new tires for the 5th wheel in June of 2004. Two of them went bad on a recent return trip. I finally had a chance to go back to Sears over the weekend to get replacements. The warranty doesn't show a time limit, only 50,000 miles with a pro-...

Tires and RV Storage

Using motorcoach LP for outdoor grill?
(Preview)
We have recently purchased a Weber 220 gas grill for the motorcoach. I kind'a like the idea of utilizing the 100 gal LP tank of the motorhome to supply the grill. There is an extended stay/refill pipe (threaded) off of the main LP line near the tank. I can tell it's been used before because there is thread...

How quickly does your propane run for?

We filled up two 8 kg propane tanks less than two months ago which are now dry. Is this typical? No one has been living in it! Eze Kleen Sewer System

I've got a question for everyone. Once we get our house sold, we will be living in a mobile home park for an extended time until we retire. what do you all use on the wood in your coaches?

Big rain storms lately so I run successfully two small dehumidifiers from Eva Dry (Googled it and found them in Tampa). I now am wondering if dehumidifiers dry out the wood in the coach and if I need to use any polish on the wood. What do you all use on the oak or maple or whatever wood is inside your coaches?...

correct tire pressure?

We went to the local tire store chain yesterday to have them put air in our tires. Our tires have max pressure of 80 psi. We assumed this meant we had to make sure they had 80 psi in them. But, the "tire guy" said it's better to keep them at 70 psi. I thought that under inflated tires caused the...
