I also have the TSD fleet card. You will find that an additional 10% of the savings will be deducted from your bank account as this is the administration fee to use the TSD Logistics fleet card. You are being added to their fleet. TSD decided to add RVers as a way to increase their own fleet and therefore obtain a more competitive price per gallons of fuel for their trucks. Although you can purchase DEF and other products on the card, these items are not discounted.You can purchase fuel at Love's Travel Stops, Petro and TA stations. You can no longer use the card at Pilot/Flying J locations.

One reason why some have decided not to apply for the card is because you are required to provide your social security number on the application. TSD states that this number is only used in the instance where funds are not available in your bank account and they need to take action to collect. It is impossible to  assure that confidential information is not hacked or misused, as this has already occurred through other supposedly secure company servers.

I have used the card several times over the last four months with no issues and I agree the savings is significant, especially at Love's. The first time was extremely slow on TSD's end to get the statement via email as well as for them to deduct the amount from the bank account, but I believe this must have been because they needed to complete setup on their end. It has been much faster since then.

Sorry, but that won't happen for this family.  There are already too many "entities" that can be hacked for personal information.  Regardless of the "supposed" discount one gets for buying some fuel, if someone were to hack the TDS company and get the personal information, including the bank account, one could lose a heck of a lot more than they would save.

Personally, I'd have to caution everyone about this program, especially with knowing so little about the company and its security.

Thousands of truckers have used the TSD EFS fleet fuel program for a long time, Terry, without any issues. BTW, they are more than just a fuel program. They are a logistics company where drivers can find and schedule loads and runs and manage other parts of their business. We've had and used a TSD fuel card since sometime last year and love it. It works everywhere except Pilot/Flying J (who recently withdrew from the TSD program because they saw it as competition for their Good Sam RV card) and the discounts are many times better than the Good Sam/PFJ card. We now avoid PFJ if possible and use the TSD card at the other truck stop chains.

I wonder how much discount you're going to get with oil plunging right now. Yeah its temporary. But the card doesn't discount taxes only the fuel. Maybe I'll wait until we are on the other side of this dark patch we are going through. I'll re-evaluate then. JHMO.

I fuel up. I am sent an email for the ACH draft they created. I move that amount into the empty dedicated account. They debit the account.  Not all that abstract to comprehend the dedicated account idea. T&J, are you going to tell us you receive a mailed, paper, Social Security check not wanting some else having access to a bank account? We are now into the 3rd decade of the 21st century. Your trepidation is more suited for the dawn of the internet/digital age 30 years ago.

 Actually, our accounts are with USAA, and they've been excellent for a banking source.  Our SSAN and our pension benefits are always direct deposited, but I'd bet that if either government (we retired from the state) entity tried to withdraw funds, USAA would put a stop to that immediately.

And yes, as I mentioned in my first post, I'd be concerned with TSD getting hacked and someone else getting our information.  If you think it can't happen, then you have more confidence in their security that I would have.  It isn't that I wouldn't trust TSD, but that I'd be concerned with their security.  And, that includes internal security with their employees.

The state agency that the wife and I retired from is the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.  She worked in the IT division and regularly saw hacker try to access our systems.  I worked in the criminal records division and saw quite a few cases of identity theft and fraud.  The fraud was generally an employee of some company that was embezzling funds.  Sometimes they embezzled the company and sometimes the clients of the company.

OK.  Sorry if I misread Larry's post.  Since he first stated my name and then the comment about attacking, it confused me.

That happens to folks as they get older, you know.

And, just for the record, I didn't really get the sense that others were "attacking" me, just that they had different experiences.

And as I had stated before, a lot of places we have been haven't had those kinds of truck stops and such.  If there was one in the area, I'm not sure that the drive to the fuel place would compensate for the "savings."
