Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Thought I would share this, we're planning to skip I-5 as much as possible this year, so this route caught my eye. Won't have time to do all of it this spring but we might cover some of this in the fall as we come south again
We have a nephew that is a contract worker for the Air Force over in the Middle East that will be returning to the U.S. for good in 2016. The next summer, he is wanting to take a trip along the west coast to see a lot of the sights. Since he wants Jo and I to accompany him and his mother (Jo's sister) on the trip, we are already beginning to research some places to go see.
I'll have to send your link to him so he can see what is there. It's kind of a toss-up as to whether to be closer to the coast or be more inland. Depending on the length of time we will be making the trip, we may try to consider weaving back and forth.
Terry

Terry - hard decision if you only have a short time, both the inland trip and the coastal trip offer so many different options.
@ Steve and Dianne - you were two of the people who I thought might really be interested in this knowing you make the journey twice a year, just hoping the weather cooperates for the time of year you make this trip!!
Our problem with that route is some of the places to visit do not open until later in spring due to snow or they are summer only. Snow might not be a problem this year, since it has been dry and there is little snow.

Bill - understand the snow issue, our months for this travel will be late May and probably mid-September so I'm thinking that timing might be really good for the mountains. And I certainly don't think it's a 5 day road trip, it would take us a month to see all of those sites with our work schedules, so we're thinking we might hit 1 area each fall and each spring as we make the transition from CA to WA. Of course, then there's all the coastal sites to see, etc. etc. Yes, I'm still having fun planning the journey and making adjustments along the way.
Our nephew is thinking of something like 2 to 3 weeks for that trip. He and I are both still researching the ideas as to where to go both along the coast and along that inland drive. The trip won't be until either 2016 or 2017, depending on when he calls it quits with the contract job.
I suspect that I may be picking the brains of a bunch of folks here on RV Dreams as the time gets closer, so be prepared for questions.
