Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

On the road again

Well after a winter in Mesa, we fired up the motorhome and headed out yesterday towards Dallas to see our kids.   Ran into cross-winds (or micro-burst) west of Lordsburg, NM in the midst of a thunderstorm (actual RAIN) and lost the shroud for the front air conditioner.   Dave got is daily walk in going back from where I got stopped (I was driving so it is naturally all my fault)  to pick up the pieces.   We got to the Camping World at Anthony, TX about 1:00 pm and they were able to locate the correct cover and get it installed by 3:00 pm.  Hopefully that is our glitch for this trip - fingers crossed.  We made it to Van Horn this evening, but it took longer than we thought because traffic around El Paso is a mess with all of the construction of the continuation of Loop 375.

We were also held up for about 25 minutes at the Border Patrol inspection station west of Van Horn.  Long line when we got there as they were going over a car at the head of the line.  Then traffic slowly started moving.  We were watching the dog walk back and forth between the car line and the truck line when he suddenly alerted on the car right in front of us.  I had never seen a dog alert like that.  He pulled his handler over, jumped on the trunk, pulled the handler back twice to the car, even put his paws up on the officers shoulders as if to say " Look, it smells like something is there, where's my treat".  He was so excited.  They had the car pull over and then the dog was back to the boring task of smelling diesel fumes.  Officer took one look at us, ask if we were both US Citizens and said "have a nice day" and off we went.

After 6 months in the Park Model it was an interesting few days of moving what we thought we would need for our summer travel (all winter clothes, decorations, etc., stayed behind) plus getting everything cleaned out and closed up for the summer.   Should be an interesting few months for us as we go east first then north, then west, and then back to Arizona for the winter.   Best part is no physician appointments until we get back in the fall!

I was wondering how the transition from the park model to motorhome was going to go. You will soon know if you forgot something out of the park model.

We are at Thousand Trails Morgan Hill and the wineries are still operating, including Kirigin Cellars, http://www.kirigincellars.com/, which we found with you.

Wine was pretty good as I remember. We will have to sample again next fall when we head back to Phoenix.
