Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We have about 3-4 weeks to see the lower parts of BC and would love any advice on locations or routes that work well. We're a 32' Class A with toad. In Hope, BC, tonight thinking of going Highway 1 east to Cashe Creek then over to Kamloops and Pentitcton, Okanagan area. The mountains here are majestic just don't want any real surprises. Thanks
Stay off 99 from Cache Creek to Vancover with the rig. Beautiful drive in a car. I had checked it out on the map and we did a side trip. Saw a 40 footer with toad heading down. Worried about him the whole time. Brakes on the Jeep were smoking can not imagine taking the rig. Most of the roads are good. Long hills, mostly 6% grades and some gentle curves, not bad. Most roads have passing lanes.

Thanks so much, that's exactly what I needed to know! I'm having a harder time findingclimbs here in Canada, this was so helpful, we'll heed the warning.
Have not done that drive since aquiring our current rig. The area around Okanagon region had lots of winding roads but we felt comfortable towing our TT we had at that time. One thing we did notice, there are tons of wineries in the Okanagon region, fun to visit, but not fun to drive with winery visitors who had been to 1-2 more wineries and were behind the wheel. We spent about 12 days there in 3 different provincial parks and enjoyed it immensely. We did quickly decide to do the driving when we were towing in the morning before the winery visitors had time to go to many wineries. We also did the trip to Revelstoke and Canada's Glacier National Park, there were some definite challenges in that drive but it was beautiful and worth the effort.
You should be fine doing that route and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We have just come back to Vancouver after touring around that area. The only really bad area, would be if you are coming back to Hope. From Princeton to Hope, we stayed unhooked. We are in a 30' Class C and pull a 2002 Tracker. When there is a steep incline or decline, we unhook. On the steep declines, husband shifts in 2nd or even 1st - not so hard on the brakes. Also if you are going in and out of Osoyoos it is both steep in and out.
We also avoid the Coquihalla Highway, very long and steep inclines and declines. Better to stay on Hwy 1.
