Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello, I have posted before about my chronic health condition that was diagnosed after we made the decision to live a FT RV life. We don't want my condition to end our dream. I need to be prepared for possible medical care on the road and need to get IV infusions every 6 weeks. I want to have my medical records with me in case of urgent care needs. How is that done? I read some people have their records with them? Do you get a paper copy of everything and scan onto a disk or can you get a electronic copy from medical facility?
We will be returning to our present location and see my current specialists twice a year - Christmas time and most of the summer.
I had mine on electronic media. I found that most doctors were hesitant to plug it into their computers. I carry and use a written sheet outlining my major health problems, my prescription list and my "home doctors name, address and phone number. Each page also lists my name, birth date, and last 4 digits of my SS number, as often, that is how this information is filed.
This works really well and saves A LOT of writing and time when filling out the forms in the waiting room. It is real fast to write: "See Attached", rather then list everything over and over.
The docs likes it too as a short medical history can be reviewed and he/she can save asking 20 questions in the exam room. I started this form because often, I would also forget things that happened like: OH yeah, I did have a Quad heart bypass 15 years ago." (Minor stroke survivor)

We travel with a cd and a medic alert usb wrist ban it has come in handy many of times. I like you have multiple medical issues and my wife has learned to shoot my various medications and is like a nurse for me. I was told I will be on a kidney machine multiple times a week and we are planning on still full timing and my wife will be running the process while we are traveling.
Thanks everyone who responded. Another question - am not good on electronic stuff - do I need to scan paper records that I get from md office(s) or will they give you any thing on a cd or sent to your email??
Most Dr.offices and medical facilities are equipped to place all your medical records on a cd.....normally anything with any private medical information will not be sent via E-mail.
if you purchase a couple of 8 gig usb fobs you should be able to store all your data on them and take up no more space than a large pack of gum!!!
