Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Sure hope this is a sign of some good news!!! Recieved a call from the VA Hospital this P.M. been given an appt. for May 9th to finally get to see a primary Doctor. Hope this is leading to a referral to a Cardiologist so I can get my echocardiogram done and see if the damage from the HA healed some and also why I get short of breath and fatigued so easy.
I have been denied my SSDI and located a very experienced person who does employment rehabilitation and disability claims. We have started the appeal process. I asked if the appeal would have an effect on my applying for my early SS. He told me I could apply 90 days before my 62nd B-Day and receive my first check in August.
Looks like a few things are looking up for me; with the help of all your prayers and support; just maybe I can survive a few more months.

Hey Ed, Were you aware that they turn down SSDI the first submission on just about everyone that applies for it? Having an experienced person to lead you through the process is comforting. I have heard anecdotal stories that if you submit again, with or without help, they will approve it. I've never seen any proof of that. My father-in-law had a stroke so they approved him first time. His daughter had to appeal and used a firm to help with the appeal. I don't know how much that cost her.
My point is... you will be approved, don't worry.

Mark S.; Was aware of it and wanted to see what would happen before I hired the social security advocate. You have to get a denial first before you can get an advocate or attorney. This man has 35 yrs experience with them and also is involved with the rehabilitation of the disabled. My biggest concern was getting into the VA health care system and i now have an appt. for a primary Dr. on May 9th where I will ask for a referral to a cardiologist to get the echocardiogram done on my heart. It would be a relief to know how much of the damaged heart muscle may have recovered. Take some of the concern off my mind and also inform me if I need further treatments. This Monday I will do my initial application for early SS, then hopefully in August will get some income coming in!
Thank you and everyone for responding as it sure has made this less stressful!!!

The VA does give free health care... At their pace and you have to be a part of the VA system. I'm not so I don't get free care unless I go to a military hospital or doctor. For the most part, veterans don't get anything free.

Received my Medical records Friday the 19th. The VA emergency Dept. DR. has put in a request. In the next two months I am suppose to be scheduled into cardiology dept. ischemia evaluation; not getting enough oxygenated blood flow. Left heart bundle branch blockage for evaluation of bi-ventricular pacemaker/implantable cardio-defibrillator. Dr. ordered an EKG; chest x-ray; Echocardiogram; blood chemistry profile; and test for arterial filibration. I don't care what tests I'm put through; just want my energy to improve and my heart pain to subside. I would like to be able to get back to workcamping and take care of my maintenance and upkeep of my motorhome. I'm trying I really am; but when the fatigue and heart pain start in; it makes me feel nauseated; causes body pain and sometimes stops me in my tracks. Tomorrow is the day I put in my application for the early SS. I have waited patiently and the last few months seemed like forever with the winter being damp cold and windy.
Cheryl: I guess I can say my health care from the VA is free; but only because my income since the heart attack has been little; then to nothing. I've spent most of my savings and I will say it has added stress that I don't need. It has taken me since October to finally get a primary doctor Appt. for May 9th.
Everyone: I am still praying that they find something and can fix; patch; repair what is needed so I can finish out my time on earth living fairly healthy, physically; mentally and spiritually. I believe that it what we all want.
