Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I was wondering if anyone has traveled from Chicago area to Philly area during this recent snow. I have to pull my 43'er at the end of the week and wonder if there is a preferred RV route. Any suggestions?
I believe trying I-65 south to Indy to I-70 east, or I-65 to Nasville then east on I-40 to I-81 or I-95 North. Stayed tuned to your NOAA Website or hook up a CB with the weather bands: Cobra has a LTD25WX that can be had at most truck stops for less than a 100 dollars with an antenna. Make sure if mounting on non metal body that you speak to a knowledgeable person about an antenna designed for either application and have them set the SWR if used to transmit and you want good reception. Could be a lifesaver in an emergency situation. Pieere.

Would love to see your new rig. What are you pulling it with?
Actually I like I-65 down to Indianapolis then over I-70. (I am assuming you are really coming from Chicago and not the MS plant. If the MS plant it would be different suggestion.)
I just drove some of that route this week and IMO that is better than I-80 across not to mention the tolls. Also, recall, a little snow is not too much of an issue on the Interstates.(I said a little.)It is sort of a long way down to Nashville and across to I-40.Do NOT go through Louisville on I-65.One of the bridges across the Ohio River is out of commission, will be a long time, and you don’t want to go that way IMO.Went that way “up” last week.Big mistake.Came back another way and no problems.
The route I suggest is 65 miles, give or take, further than the most direct route, but I think you will enjoy it more and have less traffic.(I-465 around Indy is fine.)Take I-270 around the south side of Columbus, OH.
