Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Yeah, been there. Can you say "variable"? Google up the Moab website and look for average temperatures and extremes. Should be a lot of information. Lots of bicycle riders go there for the Slick Rock Experience.
We were camphosts in Arches National Park in Moab for March & April for two years in a row.
March can certainly be cold at night (even a little below freezing) and we had some snow. Snow on the red rocks is beautiful. Yes, temps in both months can be highly variable and the winds can be crazy.
March is colder but still beautiful. April warms up but those winds can be annoying. Temperature wise, April is about as good as it gets before it starts getting hot in May.
We wouldn't hesitate to go to Moab in March or April. But we would be prepared for freezing temps. The dry air makes the cold not seem so bad. Love the area!
Like Howard, we worked at Arches 2 years (one with Howard and Linda). From mid March on the weather is great, although it can be cold at night. However, an occupied RV will not have much problem. Days are generally nice. By the end of April it is getting pretty warm for me. We have spent a lot of time in Moab - always in March, April, early May. I like April the best.

If you want to go a little further south, Zion can be great even in the winter. We stayed in December and it was beautiful. There were quite a few in our campground that spend the winter there and I would think March and April would be great. We may be there about that time this year.

We've spent a few Aprils in Moab & the weather is great. Pleasantly warm during the day, cool at night. You do need to be prepared for cold weather, it can happen, but it's generally a great time to be there. We've stayed in our toy hauler, which is not especially well insulated & haven't had a problem.
When does "spring" come to southern Utah? We don't mind cool or even cold days, we just don't want to have a freeze in the Motor home.
We've been in our Itasca motorhome in temps down to 17 degrees without a problem. If you think you'll get an overnight freeze just be sure to fill your fresh water tank and then stow your water hose. Probably wouldn't hurt to stow the sewer hose either but probably not necessary for an overnight freeze and then warmer daytime temps. As long as you have your furnace running overnight you won't have any problem with frozen waterlines or tanks.
