New fulltimers/workkampers

Hi everyone. I've been on this forum since last winter - soaking up all the great information I can about full timing. We bought a new 17' molded fiberglass Casita travel trailer in 2008 & have wanted to go full time for the past 2 yrs. Well, we "launch" in a couple of weeks. Although we have everything we need in the Casita, there isn't much left over room, so our idea (hope) is to live outside as much as comfortable & to follow the sun during the year. Hoping to spend time in the SW & Quartzite this winter.

So, we accepted an offer yesterday for our first workkamp position, starting Jun 1, for the summer at RiverCamp USA, near Piney Creek, NC. We're completing moving out of our house near Kansas City MO & getting the trailer organized. I'm still working thru the storage issues & how many clothes I actually need to keep. We're looking forward to investigating the area in the Blue Ridge Mtns & very excited about the start of this new lifestyle. We're set up to boondock a lot (except for having solar yet), but I'm relieved to start getting used to this 'tiny' living by having FHU initially.

One of the perks of our workkamping is to have 'guests' stay free for a night or two, so if anyone is coming thru the area this summer, we'd love to meet you.

smilesmile WELL-COME!!! I have been doing the workamping lifestyle since the mid-90s'. I wish you the best of luck. The Casita can get rather small as I have a 27' CL-C and I am single, especially when the weather is not agreeabl .  biggrin  LOL!! biggrin

It is enjoyable seeing different areas and cultures while traveling. Remember, just like the traditional work force, their are many personalities you will be working for and with, so either grin and bear it or move on.

Not trying to be negative, as the positives outweigh them. Enjoy and always keep applying to keep your employment schedule filled. It beats coming to the end of your assignment and trying to locate employ.    Pieere
