Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Beautiful nature preserve in Northwest Alabama

Not sure how often anyone comes through Northwest Alabama, but wanted you to be aware of the Cane Creek Nature Preserve, if you are in our area.  This is a privately owned preserve (over 700 acres!) that a really neat couple started a few years ago.  It is open 7 days a week and is free.  BEAUTIFUL place!!  Here is a link to a recent article in our local paper.   It may not actually link  smile, but I hope you will C & P it if it doesn't...

I also have friends who own a neat little campground on Hwy 72 (one of the main highways) here in Tuscumbia called Heritage Acres.  The Williams are good people who go out of their way to make their customers feel welcome.  Here is their website...  Again, it is a C & P thing!

Just thought I would do a little PR for my area!  If you come through, please let me know.  Would love to meet some RV-Dreamers!   smile

I forgot to add that the campground I mentioned is right next door to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame (within easy walking distance) which is a really nice museum.  We have a very rich musical history here in the Shoals... I'm sure many of you have heard of Muscle Shoals Sound, Fame, etc.  We've had everyone record here from Percy Sledge (who was raised in nearby Leighton) to the Rolling Stones to Bob Seger (who I actually met one night in his Silver Bullet Corvette!!  That was exciting to a 15 year old girl who was crazy about him!!)

Anyway, meant to add this and forgot.  There are quite a few neat things to do around here, just as there are in many small towns across the country!

Both in this country and around the world.  During my time in the Navy, I always got away from the main areas and went to the small town, Mom and Pop style places.

You want the local cuisine, THAT'S where to go!  You want the feel of an area, go to the small towns!  The people are friendly and you just can't beat the hospitality!

Looking at:
F-350/Ram 3500 type truck, possibly an Airstream or a smaller 5th Wheel.

However, there is still time to change the configuration, just a plan.

You are so right Gary!  It is one of the best ways to see our country (and the world!).  I love all the local festivals and parades... seeing people make something special out of the ordinary, everyday, sometimes mundane things in life is so much fun!  And knowing that there are people who care enough about an area to preserve it as the folks at Cane Creek have done should be an inspiration to us all.
