Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Trouble with webinars

Anyone have any experience with webinars? I tried to participate in one last night and had a lot of trouble. I was using an iMac running OS X 10.5 (Leopard) connected to my network via 54mbp WiFi which in turn connected to a DSL line via a router. The network is not fire-walled, and I gave the application permission to send and receive on my machine. I used a Logitech VOIP USB headset connected directly to the iMac's USB ports (not the ones on the keyboard). Prior to the webinar, I tested the headset.

The first 1/2 hour of the session was slides of ads and fun-facts about RV'ing. I was able to view that fine, and hear the "webinar will start... please stand by" just fine. When the host came on, the cover page displayed fine but the audio went south. When the presenter began, the audio cleared up, but instead of a power point presentation, all I saw was a black screen. Through all this the host had the attendees muted so I couldn't signal that I was having a problem.

Has anyone experienced a problem like this, or does something sound wrong in my setup?

I use webinars all the time and most won't work without a headset for audio. Headsets are only about $30.

Good luck.

Howard and I just attended our first one this week!  We could not see the power point presentation in the beginning but it was not us, it was the presenter and they got it working after the host informed them.

We could hear fine with just our laptops without headsets.  I was able to ask questions without a mic, only the built in mic on my laptop.

Pretty cool!!!
