My wife and I are looking to retire within the next year and plan to be part-timers in that we will travel about 8 months a year and be back at home the other 4. Our preference is for a 5th wheel though we've never owned one. We have owned a pop-up and several campers in the past and don't feel we would want to...

Although Jo Ann and I are still a few (<5) years away from retirement, we're trying to learn all we can about full-timing. To that end we bought our mpg as a "learning" rv. We both liked the Bighorns we saw, so we decided to go with an inexpensive Heartland product that our Mercury could tow...

If I understand correctly, electric trailer brakes are OFF unless the tow vehicle brakes are applied. That means that when the trailer is unhooked at a campsite, the brakes are off. Wheel chocks are then the only means of keeping the trailer from rolling away, right?
