Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are looking to buy a Mobile Suite in next couple months and see prices all over the place. I was wondering if anyone who has purchsed one of these could tell me how much off MSRP we should expect. I know some claim 30-40% but I assume all RV could vary on this as they probaly have different mark up. I talked to a older gentleman at RV show he said to figure 50% on everything including options, based on his last 2 purchases of Mobile Suites.
Can't help with % discount but think 50% is high. Suggest you contact RVS for Less in Knoxville, TN for a price. They will be close to the best you should accept. I did not buy there but will certainly try them next time (although it won't be a DRV product). Have done a bunch of looking since I bought my Suite in 07 and RVs for Less has always looked good.

Have a bad experience with DRV? Just asking because it is on my short list.

I think that older gentleman's estimate of 50% is way too high. I would venture that the percentage discount will vary from 25% to 35%, depending on the options chosen.
We ordered our 2010 Mobile Suites from Lewis RV in Oklahoma City, but you also have a good dealership located at Wheels RV in the Springdale, Arkansas area. (NW Arkansas.)
With how we opted on our unit, I would guess that our discount was around 25%, give or take 1 to 2%. I don't have the exact numbers available from our order, because I called the dealership back after we had placed our initial order and added a couple more options.
As for the quality of DRV products, you are going to get all kinds of answers, and that will apply to EVERY brand of RV out there. I usually tell everyone to "kind of" choose a brand/model you like and then check out forum sites that are specific to that brand. In all the questions you may ask, one is important, and I've asked it. The question is: "Given that you were to order/purchase another RV, would you buy "XXX" brand again?" I can say that while many will complain about "crappy parts" to the brand, a majority of those with DRV products seem to say they would buy the brand again.
The crappy parts are part and parcel of every brand. Chinese parts are Chinese parts and they find their way into everything.
Three websites for you, keeping in mind that forums will attract those searching for the solutions to problems they are having, thus they may seem like a bad choice. Just ask "The Question."
A source of used DRV products is at the following link. This couple out of Elk City, OK buy them at auction (usually after a foreclosure), check them out and clean them, and then resell them. They've sold a bunch this last year. Their units look as good as the pictures portray them.
We purchased a Mobile Suites 38 TKSB3 from Wheels RV in Springfield Arkansas last year. They were really great to work with both before and after the sale.Their total discount was right at 30%.What impressed us was that after we had signed the final deal and paid the deposit, they still discounted 30% on all the stuff we later added. This is not always done by many dealers!Their service department is also great.A few months after our purchase, we needed some additional work done along with a few warranty items taken care of.We were short on time and they stayed overtime completing everything in one day.Their service manager, Mark Kersey, answers all e-mails the same day and usually within the same hour or so.After we had agreed on a final purchase amount we approached a dealer 3 ½ hours closer (20 minutes from our house in Kansas City). We told them that if they would come within $500.00 of Wheels RV we would go with them. They came within $5,000.
My Suggestion is to spec everything out the way you think you want it right now and send those specs to several dealers.DRV has a dealer list on their website. One word of caution. On the DRV retail price that we received there is an item under”Package” that says “Mobile suite Package (Forced) ------$9,425. When I talked with Dan Tauer, during our tour of the factory, he said something to the effect that the additional amount was something used to give perceived value and facilitate financing. The Mobile Suites 38 TKSB3 retail price, back when we purchased last spring, was $85,182.On top of that there are lots of options. What I am trying to get to is the retail price includes everything that is unique to the Mobile Suites. There is no “Mobile suite Package”.Some dealers do add in this amount so it appears they are giving you a larger % off.
Thanks for all the great info we are planning working up a spec on what we want and sending it out for bids, Then we will check out the dealer to see how they are with service. We have looked at used and may end up there if we find what we want.
