Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My husband and I just got back from a wonderful weeks vacation to the mountains of North Carolina. We found a campground that actually caters to RV'ers with dogs. It is called The Four Paws Kingdom Campground. ( www.4pawskingdom.com ) They claim that the are the first and only dog dedicated campground in the USA and we believe it. They are located in Rutherfordton North Carolina.....tucked away in a beautiful wooded area. They have doggy playgrounds, an agility ring, a dog pond, and they even provide dog walking service for a fee. The sites are nice and level with 30 and 50 amp service. Well shaded and can accommodate rigs up to 110ft. Birgit and Mike Bartoschek are the owners and they have 2 corgi's named Schroder and Lucy. They are all there to welcome you when you drive up. They also have camping cabins for your friends that may not have RV's. I cannot recommend this campground enough.
Just know that all dogs are welcome and they may bring their humans with them too!!!
This sounds really like a fun place wish more were like this for our dog owners. I noticed some campgrounds dont like large dogs but I think all should be equal when it comes to our dear pets who travel thousands of miles with us thoughout our lives...
I read an article about this park. Since I "play" at agility with one of my miniature schnauzers, I've put this park on my list of places to stay when we get out that direction, hopefully next year. Thanks for reinforcing the information. I always ask about how dog friendly a park is before making a reservation. I'm finding more and more parks either won't take them at all, have a very small area for them, or charge extra. grrrr.....
I clicked on the link in your post and spent two hours looking at the camp site and surfing some of their doggie links. It looks like a really neat place to camp. I am sure when I tell Gizzy about it he will beg to go:)

My husband and I have stayed twice at this campground. The owners, Birgit and Meik, couldn't be more accomodating and friendly. Their past career experience in hospitality really shows! Our Golden, Corey, really loved playing in the "big dog" play yard, and he wore himself out playing ball. It's a lovely area to visit, and the people there are very friendly. We will definitely return!
