Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Part timing

My wife of 38 years and I part time in a 32' 5th to stay warm in the winter. I am retired Air Force as well as from other enployeers. We both retired in 2002 and prior to that we had a 945 Lance TC that we love. Retired and spent the summer of 2003 in Alaska and than came home thinking we would sell the Lance and buy a 5th to winter in. On the way home we both said that the Lance can not be sold due to wanting to return to Alaska once our Grand daughters are old enough to go back to Alaska with us. So we came home bought a 5th, built a 30x45 building to house both campers. We head south and spend the winter in Tampa Fla. Fly back north for the month of Dec and back south until mid April. During the summer we get away in the Lance for week trips so we enjoy both campers. Having two young grand daughters about 600 feet down the road does not put full timing in future plains. We know the kids will grow up and not require our attention but we are lucky to live in a great area where people spend big bucks to come visit so we will probably always call this home.      MY DH AND I PLAN TO PART TIME IN 1 1/2 YRS.  WE HAVE A 02 MONTANA 35 FT. 5TH WHEEL.  WE ALSO HAVE 2 YOUNG GRANDAUGHTERS ABOUT 5 HRS. FROM US AND WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THEM ON SOME TRIPS.  WHAT PLACES HAVE YOU AND DW VISITED AND HOW LONG DID YOU STAY?  WHAT IS THE LONGEST AMOUNT OF TIME YOU HAVE TRAVELED?  I WOULD LIKE TO TRAVEL FOR 1 TO 2 MONTHS AT A TIME, BUT NOT SO SURE ABOUT MY DH.

We went fulltime in May of 05, we were early to retire, I was 48 and wife almost the same :) . We workamped in Minnesota for the summer months, then headed to Quartzsite for the winter excitement. By far the things we enjoyed the most was the desert, camping on the beach in California and visiting the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert in Arizona. There were many others but these stand out the most. The 5th wheel IS home to us and we love it, hate the thought of having to ever go back to a stick and brick home. Nice thing is when the scenery is old you just move. I think you will really enjoy your part timing adventures!
