Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Oregon 2007 (Info Needed)

We are going to spend a month in Oregon next year. Since it's so hot in Fresno in July we though we would visit the Oregon coast to cool off a bit.

Based upon reviews that I've read, we already have made reservations at the Midway RV Park in Coos Bay for two weeks. We want to spend another two weeks in the Newport area.

We are looking at the Habor Village RV Park in Newport. We like the location as we can bicycle into the village from the RV park. Does anyone have any information about this park, or other locations?

Have you checked the web site www.rvparkreviews.com    You might find an RV park from the list and people also give their opinions on the parks.

Beverly Beach is a great place to camp when you are in the area of Newport.  The beach is within walking distance and you actually walk under the highway (101) to get to the beach.  Another place is Depoe Bay - not very far from Newport  We also stayed at Cape Lookout and at Fort Stevens  - -- both great places----you will absolutely love Oregon Coast -- its the greatest!!!!!!

Seconding Jenny's comments. Oregon has one of the best state park systems I have seen.

There are a couple in the gorge between The Dalles and Hood River we especially like. The coastal parks are great. Check ahead though and make sure they can accomodate your rig. Most of the parks are water and electric only. Some have even less. The scenery makes up for it

Up the road from Pacific City is a county park, that is literally an island. Beach/river front sites that embody all we love about Oregon.

Our favorite 1000 Trails is just south of Newport and has a tunnel to the beach. Of course they aren't like Florida beaches. Went wade fishing once, with out waders, and found the 55 degree Pacific hazardous to my health.

Actually, if you plan on staying at an Oregon State Park, they take reservations up to 9 months in advance.  And, if you expect to stay in an Oregon SP during the summer on any weekend, you better be making reservations RIGHT NOW.

We camp host at Champoeg and believe me, the parks are full all summer weekends.

You have to use Reservations Northwest to reserve, but the parks are the absolute best.
