Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Thanks Howard & Linda for the many hours of entertainment and education. Well Gina and I are about to embark on our working journey very soon. Hard to believe............ but it can and will happen if you manifest it to be. Look forward to meeting everyone and we will not be hard to spot. We will be the ones with the big dogs "Hailey" N "Bailey" our Danes after all that is what they make Wall Mart bags for right?
If anyone is coming to the Black Hills SD area let us know. After living there for the last 22 years would be happy to help with any questions about the area feel free to e-mail us. I have been RVing since the 60's but still learn everyday, had parents that hauled the whole family in the American Motors Rambler with the 1967, 16 ft Trailblazer in tow. What is a computer? I remember when Bathrooms in RV's were very rare not to mention a pit toilet was just that, a little building over a hand dug hole in the ground. Hot water was filling the kettle with water from the hand pump and using the stove to heat it. Wow, life is soooo much better today......
Happy and safe trails to everyone................

Some of your comments about your early days camping brought back memories to me.
It was in the early fiftys when my family traveled in a borrowed "tear drop" trailer and a tent. You remember the "tear drop", the one with the kitchen in the trunk.
What I remember most was the time we camped at Lake Mead (outside Las Vegas). Mom and Dad slept in the trailer and my sister and I got the tent. The wind was blowing so hard that my sister and I spent the entire night hanging onto the center pole of the tent to keep it from flying away. Ahh memories...
Maybe we should start a memorible story section.......... The Trailblazer has many a funny moment and memory. I can honestly say that those memories have led me to make the jump to full time early (47 & 40 Yrs.). After all the time we spend trying to make the white picket fence and family thing work. I found that I have this constant itch for exploring. I am very lucky account my job allows me to bid to other locations and work. Now that the kids are gone it is time.....
The one thing I have are the fondest memories growing up during our family trips in our RV. From Washington DC to the Canadian Rockies, California to Florida. All before I became a "know it all" teenager, I had the good fortune of all those experiences. My father showed me that RVing is probably the most gradifying of times not because of the expense but the way more fullfilling experience it offers. Meeting all the kind and amazing people over the years convinced me that we are truely blessed to be a part of this community.
The house is sold (close Sept.25th) , liquidation sales are running, look forward to putting the extenda mirrors back on........
See you on the road..............................

I first camped in an old canvas tent (probably from Sears), and my first memory of camping was at Cape Hatteras and my little brother, then about 3 throwing sand in my eyes and being afraid of the waves crashing on the beach. After getting soaked in a torrential rain on another trip (Levi Jackson in KY) Mom and Dad moved up to a 14 ft TT-4 kids and 2 adults-WOW! But what memories!
Here's alink that'll bring back Teardrop memories.
