Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Guidelines And Suggestions

It's hard to make a page of rules fun, but we are going to try.

Everyone that has visited other forums has noticed certain things that make the forums irritating,  frustrating, or less valuable .  We want to keep this forum as entertaining as possible while at the same time making it the most informative and relevant forum on the web .  Therefore, please adhere to a few simple rules.

Rule #1

When replying in an open topic, please keep your reply as relevant as possible.  It just takes a second to open a new topic.  Nothing runs off a forum reader faster than digging through irrelevant posts to find the information they are seeking.

Rule #2

When posting a reply to a topic always ask yourself "Will my reply be helpful to a wide audience of forum members?"  If the answer is "no", please consider using the Private Messaging feature.

There is a fine line here.  We don't want to stifle the community feeling and ability to add humor and fun.    Feel free to have a good time and keep your personality shining through.    But let's keep the one-to-one back-and-forth conversations out of the forum topics.  It will make it better for everyone.

Rule #3

When posting a new topic, please try to make sure that the topic is started in an open, relevant forum.  If you can't find one that fits your topic, use the most relevant one.  We will continue to open forums and move topics as we go.

Rule #4

Let's keep it clean.  We have a profanity filter on, but let's keep the cursing and inappropriate content out.  Note:  Unfortunately, the profanity filter sometimes some times bleeps (****) perfectly fine words.

Rule #5

Please don't discuss politics or religion here.  This is an RVing Forum, and this is not the place to share your views on these topics.  Certainly, some subjects will have political implications or there may be religious ties, but we just don't want to overtly start topics or make comments with primarily political or religious overtones.  For the record, we have no issue with holiday greetings or with you posting your political or religious outlook in your personal profile, and we don't really have issues with general comments about government.  This is a difficult area to moderate, so the less we have to make subjective judgments, the better.  If you are unsure, feel free to send us a private message.

Rule #6

Please read the excellent topic on Good Manners.

We will go through the forum posts and topics on occasion, and where we deem it appropriate, we may move topics or posts or we may even delete posts that do not conform with the rules.  Persistent misuse will result in being banned from the forum.

This will NOT be a constantly monitored or moderated forum.  We still have some full-time living to do.    So we will need a little cooperation and teamwork, so we can keep this forum both fun and informative and one that you will be proud to tell others about.

Thank you!

Okay folks, I hate to do this, but I have to do some gentle scolding.

It's VERY important that everyone adhere to the rules established.  It's crucial to the success of this Forum that our "Reply" posts are inline with the ORIGINAL post in a Topic.

There are plenty of places to chat (i.e. Introduce Yourself, Member Websites, Community Chat) without cluttering up the Topics that many people are using to find answers to their questions.  Too often we are changing the focus of the Original poster's question by getting off course.  If our visitors have to wade through too many comments that have nothing to do with the Topic as started, they will stop coming back.

So please, please, please make sure that your Reply is absolutely relevant to the Original poster's question rather than relevant to an unrelated observation in the 83rd post in a Topic.

That's the test.  If your Reply is not relevant to the Original question (read it again to be sure), please start a new Topic, use one of the many chat-friendly Sub-Forums, or use the Private Messaging feature.

As I peruse the Sub-Forums, I will be deleting posts that are not relevant.  Sorry, but we have to do this for this Forum to be the best it can be.  Thanks for your understanding and support!
