Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Class A Mandalay Coach

Hi

I wondering if anyone out there has or knows of anyone one with a Mandalay Class A ?

That model is on our short list, but other than dealers we haven't seen but 2 used on the internet.

I know their parent company, Thor, has had a bit of a bad reputation for some of their models, but I think the Mandalay is made in a seperate division.

Anyone know anything about them??

Thanks,

Roy

We do have a Mandalay 2006 40B Merlot full-body paint.  We spent several months researching different companies, but kept coming back to the Mandalay.  We were especially impressed with their product after visiting the plant in Elkhart, IN.  Heather Hockert took us on a tour and walked us through all the units on the assembly line.  Since Dan is in the home building business, he really appreciated this kind of tour

A few Mandalays were made in 2003 and there were some issues in 2004 with windshields cracking and popping loose, but Mandalay Luxury Division really stepped up and resolved these issues.

We waited for the 2006 model because they raised the inside ceiling height to 84" and we wanted a Cummins 400 HP engine.  The side opening basement doors are wonderful.  The Freightliner chassis rides and drives very well.  The other factor at the time we purchased was the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, which is not offered now.

We bought our Mandalay from Brown and Brown Chevrolet and RV in Bradley, IL. No pressure to buy and our salesman, Bruce Engel,  encouraged us to check out other Class A's that they sell.  We did have some warranty work done and were very satisfied with the service department at Brown and Brown.

We just returned from a trip from Illinois to Seattle and experienced a ruptured fuel line near Sheridan, WY. We have CoachNet Emergency Road Service and they arranged to have the motorhome trailered on a flatbed to Billings, MT to the Cummins Service Center where the fuel line was replace under warranty.  We had some overheating issues on our trip, but we are fortunate to have a Freightliner Service Center close to us, and they are looking into that next week.

You might want to check out the Mandalay Owners Forum on Yahoo Groups and feel free to give us a call.  Dan would be more than happy to talk with you.

As to the Forum, the early posts reflect a lot of the problems in the beginning, but if you read through all the posts, you'll find resolutions and changes along the way.

Here is the link to the Forum.  You may have to join Yahoo Groups to get on.

Overall, we REALLY like our Mandalay.  After looking at Holiday Ramblers, Monaco, Country Coach and some others, we believe we got the best deal with what we wanted for the money.  Mandalay includes several things in the original setup that are options on the others.

Again, feel free to call us.
