Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

The Howard’s Blog?

Did I miss a new URL, or has Howard and Linda quit blogging?  I thought we would get a update once and a while.

I miss them too. I hope they're OK in The Villages in Florida during this pandemic. I met them at a COE campground near LaGrange, GA several years ago. Very, very nice folks. It's been months since we heard from them... praying for their health and safety.

I'm just glad they started this web site and it was going strong when we made the move in 2016. Learned a lot, attended a rally, got smart about RV's and it's made our full time journey much easier. I appreciate all that they did for this community and wish them the best in their future endeavors.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the kind words and sorry we haven't posted any updates in a while. We haven't had much to blog about in our RV world in a while due to COVID-19. We had to cancel our Spring Educational Rally, and Linda had to cancel her two-week trip with her sister at the end of July.

However, we will be heading to Tennessee in the RV the middle of September. We scheduled a Fall Educational Rally for Sept 14 - 20 at The Ridge Outdoor Resort and it looks like we will be able to go through with that. We haven't promoted it much as we didn't want to have a whole bunch of registrations and then have to cancel again. But this one looks to be more certain and we do have openings. So, if anyone would like to join us in Tennessee, go to the link, look over the itinerary, and register. We still have RV site openings and at least one tiny house has opened up and there are a couple of on-site safari glamping tents available for those without RVs.

We've also scheduled a 2021 Spring Educational Rally for April 26 - May 2, 2021 at The Ridge. THIS will be the last educational rally we will do, so it will be the last opportunity to attend one of these. Registration will open in September shortly after the Fall Rally is over.

Yes, we are doing fine in The Villages. Linda has her own business, and I took the time that we were on lockdown to get my Florida Real Estate License. I'll be working with buyers and sellers in The Villages exclusively as we work our usual plan of multiple streams of income to support our lifestyle. I'll also be referring those selling homes to become full-time RVers to top-notch agents in their areas, so if you are planning to sell, let me know.  :)

I play pickleball about six days a week, I was recently drafted to play softball in the top division here (we have the largest softball program in the world with over 3,000 players registered in the system), and Linda & I have started bowling again (we're in a mixed league on Monday night, and I'm in a competitive men's league on Thursday nights). In addition to that, I'm in the Men's Basketball Club, and the Table Tennis Club, and I play golf on the 41 nine-hole executive courses (free for residents) and the 12 championship golf courses when I can. Linda is auditioning for musicals and is up for a part in Mamma Mia this winter.

Yesterday, I went with a fellow pickleball player to inspect a used RV he is considering buying. Our reputation as RVers has gotten around although we haven't yet joined the RV club here yet.

So, we've had a lot going on, although not so much in the RV world, and we are staying safe in our little bubble that is The Villages. If anyone comes and stays a few days in the area, let us know and we'll try to get together. Again, thanks for the kind words and your support.
