Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Winterizing My 2006 DRV Mobile Suites Model 36TK3

I recently purchased a 2006 DRV Mobile Suites Model 36TK3 and can't get the system to siphon RV antifreeze. Has anyone else had problems winterizing their DRV Mobile Suites? I tried for hours yesterday & the pump will run but doesn't draw the antifreeze. Hoping someone can help with instructions and photo's. I've also looked online hoping to find a video but haven't found anything specific to my DRV.

Sorry, can't help with an answer, we have a 2010 DRV MS but we head south to avoid winter!!

In all seriousness, if you are on Facebook, there is a DRV Owners Group, great group of people, someone there always seems to know the answers to most of the mechanical questions.

Doug,

There is another forum which may interest you since you are a DRV owner.  It's called Suites Owners International Travel Club (SOITC) and is made up primarily of Suites owners.  I did a search and did find this little tidbit regarding winterizing using the pump.  However, this may not apply to a 2006 model, as I think the explanation of the clear line may be on a newer model.  They do change things as time goes on.  You might consider registering at SOITC and asking your own question there.

Anyway, here is what I copied from that forum.  It may involve closing or opening more than one valve.

"The valve and clear line on the suction side of the pump are used to winterize the unit. You close the valve going to the tank, open the valve going to the clear plastic line, insert the clear plastic line into a gallon jug of RV antifreeze (food grade propylene glycol) and pump it through the system (bypassing the water heater, of course).

The thread at that site is one that I started regarding a problem I was having, but morphed over into other topics (as forum threads tend to do), which includes talking about other pump issues.  Here is a link to that full thread:

Good luck.

Terry
