Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Greetings!

Hi everyone!

My name is Monisha, but my friends call me Mo.  I'm a 38-year-old disabled vet and PhD student who is ready to live my RV dreams.  There is a lot to tell about myself - like the life I've lived as a woman in the Army and as a veteran - and I don't know where to begin.  I saw a different side of combat that has profoundly impacted my life and not always in a good way.  That said, I see the challenges of living with PTS and moral injury as opportunities to learn from the pain, heal, and ultimately find peace.  I see full-timing in an RV as the way to get there.

Thanks to you all and this wonderful site, along with a local group who helps get vets like me into donated motorhomes or campers, I believe it's finally possible to make my RV dreams a reality.  I especially appreciate how encouraging you all are toward women who are traveling this road alone.  It's just me, my two little dogs, and a ton of determination.  A ton of questions as well!

With that, it's very nice to meet you all, and I'll get right to posting (according to the fantastic community rules you have in place).

Onward and upward,

Mo

First of all, thank your for your service and welcome. Secondly they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Please prove them right. My wife and I haven't quite started our dream yet, but we're working on it. It's still a couple of years down the road so you're ahead of someone. Good luck with your dream!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Ron - Glad you didn't get got, brother.

Larry - Thanks for asking about my studies.  The degree is in a certain type of psychology that focuses on changing harmful social systems by listening to people on the receiving end of all the nonsense (especially from within the mental health field).  I'll use the degree as a platform to help teach communities about things like moral injury straight from the horses' mouths instead of from folks who have never lived it and don't understand but want to make a buck off of peoples' suffering.

Arcaguy - Thanks for good wishes and best of luck right back to you and yours.  You're so right.  Haven't been defeated yet and have no intention to be. ;)

Trailerking - Ahoy!
