Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
It took me awhile but the Rally in Pigeon Forge pushed my wife over to my side and is now agreeing that we need to go full-time. We are about to list our house and I told my boss I will be resigning my federal government civil service position in the April timeframe. My wife (Jari) is legally blind due to Multiple Sclerosis; we are retiring her current guide dog this month, some of you may remember her from the Rally, so Jari will be going to New York in early March to train and get her new guide dog.
Not know what our future holds I thought it more important for us to go explore this great country of ours while we still can. Multiple Sclerosis has a history of making folks life miserable but thankfully it hasn’t affected Jari’s mobility that much. So I figured let do it now while we can until we can’t.
The Fall rally was a blessing and a curse (sort of) it was a blessing because Jari is more comfortable, but a curse because I learned that the big truck I bought wasn’t big enough. Actually weighed the rig and was about 900 pounds overweight on my rear truck axle, with an empty trailer. So I got a new truck to pull our home. So; maybe not a curse after all.
So if all goes well by late April Jari, her guide dog and I will be pulling up stakes in Illinois and heading off somewhere to begin the next chapter of our life and running away from cold weather.
We now have a 2017 Ram 3500 DRW 4X4 6.7L Cummins and a 2017 Jayco Pinnacle 36FBTS fifth wheel.
Thank you all in advance for the help you will or in some cases already have provided us.
Jeff and Jari ... It is nice to hear from you (indirectly) and good to know that all is well. Good luck on your adventure ... just take your time and be flexible. From our talks, I am certain that you two have perfect personalities to deal with all that full timing will toss in your path. There will be good days and not so good days, but it will be a great adventure. Hope to see you on the road.
Ron and Janice
