Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Im very happy to have found this forum. We are in the very beginning stages of planning a year on the road with our 2/3 kids. our oldest will be graduating high school before we go so not sure if she will be along for the year or not but I'm sure she will insist on being along for some of it. My other 2 kids will be middle school age, 11 and 14. It has been a dream of mine to take a year and travel around with the kids. There is so much to see in this world!
We are in the very early stages of realizing this dream. We are planning for it to be the year of 2018! We have so much to learn and I will be absorbing all the knowledge I can before hand. We have ZERO RV experience. I have been researching for about a month now and we like the idea of a class A RV between 33-36' but I am very intimidated at the thought of driving something like that. We happen to live in Tampa FL and took our first trip out to Lazydays RV yesterday and it has gotten us all very excited for what's to come but also realize we have ALOT to learn.
So many questions about what to buy and what will be best for on the go for an entire year. I am thinking maybe 10 different stops spread out from coast to coast in the US. I'd like to stay as long as we would like at each stop. Some places we may have enough after a week and others we may want to stay longer.
We also have a parrot and a dog that will be along for the adventure!
Welcome to the RV-Dreams Forum!! This is a great place to learn and ask questions. We can tell you are excited and it sounds like it will be a wonderful trip for the family. You'll have a great time. :)
Thanks for the welcome, I am so excited and so jealous of all you that have already figured this out and are responding from the road while you live the life I am dreaming of.
Something my kids and I noticed while we were at Lazydays was that everyone was so darn friendly. Many had their dogs and cats along with them and just the entire atmosphere was so awesome and nice. I am so excited about what our future holds. We have had a very rough 6 years. Hoping that is all behind us now! So tired of the mundane life we have been living.
What a brave, adventurous person you are! The experiences you and your children will have on the road will last a lifetime. Great job for stepping out on the road less travelled - best wishes for your planning and eventually your year exploring your great nation!
