It took a little time, but I finally found my next work from home job.  Whoo Hoo!!

Back in July as we were celebrating our 3^rd anniversary of being FT RV’ers, we were facing potentially huge changes.  http://rv-dreams.activeboard.com/t62500111/3rd-year-anniversary-and-huge-changes-ahead/

So I started the process of evaluating work camping / working on the road opportunities, do I want another corporate job or do we want to try something different?   Lots of thought, discussion, spreadsheets galore, my typical “over-analyzing” all the scenarios, etc.  For us, for now, we’ve made the decision that I should find another remote, work from home job, rather than trying to go the work camping route.

Multiple factors lead to the decision but the 3 primary ones were:

• Retirement in 5-7 years vs. possibly not being able to retire until we were old enough for Medicare
• Want to continue the ability to move when we want, didn’t want to be “stuck” somewhere for a 3-6 month commitment.
• Healthcare – and no I am not going to get into a political discussion, all I can say is that entire part of our analysis was truly frustrating.

Many times we’ve heard Howard say there is no right way to FT RV and I know I made a much different decision than some of you would have made, but for us this feels right. 

I thought I would share a few tips and sites that enabled my job search:

https://www.virtualvocations.com/ - subscription site, but for me, for the type of work I was looking for, this was the site that was the BEST.  In fact, this was the site that ultimately led to my new job.

Indeed.com - for this one you can change some settings in your profile to indicate you are looking for remote work. 

Flexjobs.com - another subscription site that I did not find quite as many opportunities on as Virtual vocations. However, if you were looking for part time or temporary positions, this one seemed to have more of those available.
