Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Looking for suggestions for what would be a good campground/park/resort to "winter over" in either Alabama or Georgia. Want to be in non or infrequent snow areas of those states. Would love to be able to say we'd do Florida but if the humidity is always as bad as when we took a trip there this October, I don't know that I could deal with it for several months. If I'm wrong about all Florida areas (concerning the humidity) then suggestions for places to winter over there would be welcome as well. Thanks in advance.

Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.
I can't offer any help for Alabama or Georgia but there is a spot we like in Abbeville La.
It's a simple place with 30 and 50 amp FHU sites. The park is isolated by a wooded area all around and is quite most of the time. Super Walmart and Lowes is 10 min away. Good Cajun cuisine restaurants close by as well. Humidity can be a problem but typically not during the winter months.
We wintered here last year and are here again through Jan. Cost is 425 per month FHU included.
They do charge an extra $40 for the first month admin fee to get you set up on a monthly.

Escapees has a park in Robertsdale which is on the east side of Mobile Bay near Foley. The Elks Lodge in Foley also has a nice park if you're ready an Elk but it is less than 100 a year for membership and your Elks card will get you in, beer, and RV parking in any lodge (not all have RV parking). Both of these have long term winter options but it might be a bit late to get a reservations n for this year.
Southern AL gets cold some 30-40 but isn't below freezing many days and has no snow probably 4 years out of 5…I grew up in Mobile. Too cold for me…I want shorts and t shirt weather.
There are plenty of places on the Gulf coast near Pensacola, etc but again many are probably already booked for this winter.
Its not humid down here in North Fort Myers once you get to November…but then its warm and more than 425/month. The farther south and the warmer the weather the more expensive it gets. Rates down here vary from 900 to 1200 depending on how many resort amenities you need/want. The Keys are even more…and they're already booked anyway.

I grew up in Greenville, AL about 130 miles north of Mobile. Sherling Lake Park is there beside Cambrian Ridge Golf Course and have very reasonable rates. It will get below freezing there a few days a year.
Another place we stayed last winter is Emerald Lake RV Park near Colquitt, GA. Good folks there and lots of little towns to explore.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions. Hoping they'll still be valid for next year. Still going to be braving the New England winter this year but hoping and dreaming. I've gotten enough good information from this board that I'd never just begin to look around now for this year, but will investigate all information given in your responses in hope of a future "snow escape".
