Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Can't wait to go!

Hi We are Mark and Sonya. Years ago we went to a Camping World to dream about a big motor home, thought it would be nice to travel around in it. Saw a Montana fiver that looked real nice a we said said we could propably live in that. About 6 months ago we stopped back by the Camping World (Dreaming again) and saw a Heartland Big Country and we said we could  definitely live in this. The kids are gone why not? So we have about a 5 year plan to pay off debt then sell the house buy our rig and hit the road! Some days were ready to go right now! Thanks to all the info from this site it makes the dream very feasible. Looking forward to the RV show in Chattanooga in January looking forward to some of the seminars. So for now I will continue researching and planning and dreaming.

Good to meet you Mark,

My wife Karen and I started off thinking it would take eight years to hit the road full time. Then I figured out a way we could do it in five years. At the time she wanted to leave now which was nice to hear. That was two years ago. Only three to go!

It's nice to read about another couple planning out five years. The RV Dreams forum is full of very helpful people. You will meet a lot of them in the next year or so.

I toured the Heartland Big County a few months back. Nice fiver in it's price point. I've read and heard many good thinks about Heartlands customer service after the sale which others tell me is an extremely important point.

Good luck to you and Sonya,

Mark

Hello Mark & Sonya. Like Mark (mds1) we originally thought our plan would need 8 years to unfold (2022 was original start date) but with planning and knowledge we are also down to less than 3 years from now. Knowledge is power and it clears up mysteries and ignorance. I will say getting a handle on your budget is probably the biggest thing you can do to eliminate stress. We also can relate to the ready to go now mindset. Every new FTer that kicks off their adventure on here gets us a bit more jealous, and a bit more determined to follow them into the great adventure.

The Montana and Big Country are popular rigs in their respective price points. They are on our radar, but we are still far enough out that nothing is this area has firmed up for us.

Consider going to one of Howard and Linda's rallies, from all reports it's well worth it and we plan to attend sometime in the lead up to our planned kick off date (spring/summer 2019).

Welcome aboard, let the good times roll.

Brian

Thanks for the encouraging replies. I think Howard and Linda are giving some of the seminars in Chattanooga. We also like, or think we like, a new Cardinal floorplan 3950TZ. It has a raised rear living room but only 2 steps. Pictures I've seen it looks less compartamentalize than the others with 3 steps and basement space because of this. We are hoping to see one at the show. But who knows what will be out there when we get ready to go. Encouraging to hear that both of you started with longer time frames and have managed to move them up! Maybe we can do the same.
