Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Does anyone have experience with any oxidation cleaners/restoration products? My 2002 coach does have some areas where Oxidation has occurred and I would like to improve those areas. I have used the Meguiar's product with average results so I am wondering what everyone else uses and their recommendations.
Cheers
Big Mike

Hey Big Mike, Not sure what product your using or how, But we have been detailing RV's for sometime, so I'll give you what works for us. We have used a mild rubbing compound with a lite cutting pad to take out holograms, oxidation and some scratch's using a DA buffer. If its on the worse side, I would recommend using a heavy cut compound with a yellow foam pad or wool pad. It's always better if you try the lightest cutting product first, and move up from there. We are going to try the McKee's compound all in one product next week at 80 bucks a gallon. If you want, I'll take some pictures before and after and send you to make a decision. If your ever in the mountains of E TN, Hit me up, we're probable in the area at a resort detailing.
So....how much should we expect to pay for the works....wash, wax, oxidation removal, etc? We've contacted a few mobile units in our area and were quoted $13.00 per foot to get our rig back to "75%" shine. Is this normal? Sure, we could do it ourselves but....no Thanks for any suggestions, tips.
