Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Fire Season starting again

We ended last summer in North ID with the almost constant smell of smoke, occasional ash and gray skies.  Starting this summer in Central OR and due to a storm that passed through yesterday we are once again seeing the smoke plume and thanks to a change in wind direction, really smelling the smoke today. 

Once again we turned to one of our favorite fire map websites that shows the major incidents, but also within a link off the site you can see the recent reported fires, so even if it's not a major incident yet, you can see the reports.  I then Google the fire name and get the local news reports and monitor the situation to be aware of any potential evacuation orders. 

Here's the website we use, shared by a friend of ours whose son is one of those pilot / firefighters who spends a lot of time in air, dropping fire retardant on forest fires.

Thanks for that link.  I think it will help a lot of us.

Are you two transitioning north?  We're loving it down here by Grants Pass, even though I'm now doing more manual labor than I have in years.  I saw the fire was listed for Jefferson County.  Are you up around Bend somewhere?

Hi Terry, we were north of Bend at The Palisades Cove State Park, lovely park that is almost deserted on weekdays. After 3 years of traveling I-5 we decided a different route was needed so we explored portions of US 97. However today marked our arrival back into Western WA, Dale's next art show is north of Seattle next weekend so it was time. Back to rain, gray skies and layering of clothing, we're a bit chilly right now😕

We're in Everett - cold and damp. Had to get propane for the furnace which we haven't used for a couple of years. Didn't pack a lot of winter clothes on this trip north because it was SO HOT up here last summer. Now, wish we had!

Hi Barb, we'll be at the Edmonds Art Festival next weekend if you want to stop by. Hoping for good weather, we traveled in long sleeves and sweat pants today for the first time in a long time, we're a bit chilly, but then again, you can't expect summer to start until July 5th in the Puget Sound😕
