Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
So my wife and I are in the process of testing the waters of fulltiming. We're about a year away. We are particularly interested in the small class a diesels - newmar ventana, nexus bentley among others. The only time we used an RV was over 20 years ago. It was a Class C Honey. We are hoping to rent a small class A to get a feel for what this experience would be like, but I'm having trouble finding anyway to find, let alone rent one for a week or two. We are willing to go where they are to get the opportunity to hit the road with one for a few days. Any ideas?
I would check around online to find locations that offer exactly what you want and to make a reservation. It makes sense to try it out before you buy one. I hope you find what you are looking for and love it!
Cruise America seems to be a popular RV rental company
Check on Craigslist there a many private owners and companies offering motorhomes for rent...you might have better luck finding the type you are looking to rent. There are some new startup type RV rental online services kind of like AirBnB where folks can list an RV for rent.
Another company to check out is RVShare, private individuals use their site to rent their RVS when they aren't using them. I was checking it out for a family visit and they seem to have many more options on types of rigs.
