Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Not new to RVing but not really an old hand either. I am semi retired and the wife is retired and we are considering upgrading our RV. We are currently in a 2010 Mako by Gulf Stream, this is a nice unit but not for full timing. To put it bluntly, we need more room and more storage......oh yea the wife wants more counter space. We are looking at two models now, the Sanibel by prime time and the Big Country by Heartland. I see that the Heartland is rated for full time living but we like the set up of the Sanibel better. I know that is a personal preference but I still like have input from folks who know MUCH MORE than I do.
I have a heartland and they have been very hard to deal with, so I would do anything but Heartland and as far as the full time living they say so until they have your money then it goes to (well you know they are not meant to live in). Just my experience is all I am saying I am sure some have had great luck with them because as you are doing I did my research and that is why we got what we have.
I don't know who told you that dreamsopen, but it sounds like a dealer speaking. If you look on the Heartland website, they put the warranty for full timing in writing.
I also invite you to come over to the Heartland Owners Forum (see link below) where you will find many owners of units that are very satisfied with their units.
I am sure jayc and I am a member of Heartland Owners Forum that is why we have what we have but this has been a nightmare for us . Heartland rep told me that they were not made for full time living so he could not help me. I do love the design of the units and I was not going to have anything but Heartland just because of my research, we may just have a lemon but this is not what I was expecting when I went full time.
On the same note Keystone does not warranty full time at all, in the fine print if you are using it as your residence the warranty is null and void.
