Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Oregon US Route 20

We may be traveling from Colorado Springs, CO to Eugene, OR. Does anyone have knowledge of the condition of US Route 20 in Oregon. Is this a good road? Google maps shows some very curvy sections of the highway. We will be pulling a travel trailer out and a 5th wheel back. Would like to know if this is a good road.

Also, any recommendations for campgrounds on Route 20 through Oregon?

We took hwy 20 this summer from Boise Idaho to coast, nothing wrong with hwy , just the speed limit is 55 slow going, curves are nothing out of ordinary , my thoughts are if I were to go again I probably take the interstate . Not because of curves but because of speed, and the scenery.

Rt 20 in Oregon is a pretty decent road.  We have traveled it a few times most recently about a month ago.  There is one section on the west slope of the Cascades about 15 miles long that is very curvy but is not really a problem, just follow the posted speed limits on the curves they are well marked.  We stayed in a city owned campground in Sisters that was nice and a short walk downtown.  We have pulled our 5th wheel both directions with no problems and I am not the most comfortable when driving mountain roads.  Enjoy your trip.

The campgrounds in Burns are OK. We have stayed at Burns and friends like Crystal Crane Hot Springs. We miss the Old Station Casino campground in Burns, but mismanagement caused the casino to be declared unsafe and the whole place is closed down. There are also campgrounds around Bend and lots to do there.
