Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I did several times, and will be doing so again come this October. It is one of my favorite roads to travel. Take it slow and easy. No stops and light traffic as commercial vehicles are prohibited. There is always lots of wildlife - mainly deer and turkey, but occasionally you'll see others too.
There are 2 free CGs on the Trace. We often stop at the Meriwether Lewis CG near Hohenwald, TN, home of the Oliver molded fiberglass TT.

We towed our 5th wheel down that road.
The only issue we had (besides the incessant rain) was that we turned down one of the scenic pulloffs and the "NO RV TURNAROUND" sign wasn't noticible till we had already made the turn. And they weren't kidding.. we had to back the rig all the way back out. Not a fun day.
We've done the "Trace" with a 40' Motor Home pulling a toad with no problems.
Beautiful drive. Go slow and enjoy the scenery.

It's been about three years, but I don't recall any problems with a 40 ' DP and tow. This is a posted on the NPS website: 4. Is the Parkway RV friendly? Yes it is. Almost all of the pull-offs offer either pull through or circular drive access. If an area does not then it is posted that there is no circular drive. Also there are numerous campgrounds along the Parkway. The Parkway campgrounds are free and primitive, while most non-Parkway campgrounds charge a fee, but offer electricity, dump stations, etc.
Speed limit is 50 mph. I don't remember the availability of fuel stops along the way. Something to research or fill up first.
