Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Things you can't live without!

So there is an older post in here somewhere about things that you've found in your RV that you LOVE and can't now live without.  It's been sooooo useful to me as a newbie!  In fact, someone put on there they couldn't live without their Bose system - and I ended up going out and buying one for my TV - as it was sooo hard to hear over the A/C.

Aside from my Bose, the two things that stick out in my mind now is - a large trash can - because the one that came with the RV under the sink was just too small - we were taking out trash every single day without filling up the trash bag!  So we bought a new shiny one, set it at the end of the counter - now I can go a week before I have to dump it!  WAY better! LOL

Second thing, my Shark vacuum - love it!  Tried to use my full size Dyson, and it was just too cumbersome in a small space, and heavy.  So bought a Shark - that thing is amazing and picks up stuff my Dyson wasn't getting!  Love it!

What are the things you've found you can't live without?

George Foreman grill with interchangeable plates. Big and heavy, takes up too much counter space, but, so convenient and fast when bad weather doesn't allow you to cook or grill outside. Doesn't heat up the kitchen either and the plates are easy to clean. I put a wet paper towel in it while it's still hot and it practically steams itself clean. I also wrap the drip tray in a plastic bag before using it so the fat collects there for easy disposal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner - all in one appliance. Wish I could invent something like that!

Blue tooth txmitter for TV. Pair it up with Bose SoundLink Mini, place on back of couch so we can hear TV when it rains or for watching movies for good sound.
Crystal brandy snifters. It's the only glassware in the RV.
Verizon Jet Pack. We both use a lot of Internet plus synching photos and music across multiple devices.
Lots and lots of other suff to which we have become accustomed.

Selah, what brand Bluetooth transmitter do you have, and is there a lag time in the audio?

One thing not mentioned, we really like our induction burner. Rarely use our stove.

Memory foam 3" mattress topper - best sleep ever.

Soft-sided boxes with lids for organizing clothes and towels, etc. in the deep cupboards over the bed and above the "dresser".

ATT Mifi with 30 GB/month

Dryer sheets to get bugs off front of rig

Collapsible kitchenware - love the collapsible dish drainer

Storage footstool for the couch - goes on bed on travel days.

Non-shedding fluffy dog.

Gavin Mountain outdoor chairs.

Jo and Craig

I use an OREI DA34 digital to analog converter to convert audio from the optical out connection, the only output on our Panasonic TV, to analog. I then plug in a Go Groove BlueSense TRM to to DA34.

So, the BlueSense plugs dirctly into the DA34. The DA34 uses an optical cable to plug into the TV. I could not find any Bluetooth transmitter that could connect directly to the optical out on the TV.

BTW. If you have a TV with Dolby sound you must use the DA34. The cheaper DA21 will only work on non HD broadcast or DVDs that do not use Dolby.

I'm intrigued...how does this work?  Do you wet them?  Seems I am acquiring the task and I am interested in anything that might make it easie.

Electric cork screw - arthritis in the fingers was impeding opening wine bottles. No longer have that problem!

Things a guy on the road can't live without - from a slightly different perspective.

Seriously though, I always carry an old style Aussie military "FRED" bottle/can opener/spoon (similar to a US P-38/51, but larger, with more leverage and a bottle opener/spoon) in my pocket everywhere I go. Most Army surplus stores have them.

Pam, just dip the Bounce dryer sheets in a little water, and the bug guts come off pretty good. Then rinse the area afterwards.

Seating area in bed room has French doors, if door is closed you can see up front but

you can not hear conversation or TV. Computer Desk with chair.

During the day if you need some time alone for what ever reason go to the back, close the blinds.

Rule is no one will enter unless they announce their self. My grandchildren camp with us sometimes

so they have the same option, I will announce my self to see if everything is ok.

Most time, I brought some home work, I have test on Monday or I'm tired and need to sleep a little longer.
