Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hello all, newbies from Hickory NC

Hello folks, DH and I finally bit the bullet and purchased an rv (Sunseeker 3010DS Class C motorhome) and put our house up for sale with the intent of going full time within the next few months. We have

been following this forum for at least a year now and have enjoyed reading about and learning from Howard and Linda. Thanks so much you two. We have also enjoyed reading and learning from everyone else's posts...thanks RV Dreams family. We are anxious to get out there and keep learning and hopefully be able to share some knowledge.

Happy RVing and safe travels to you all,

Doris and Bob

Thanks Mark! We just listed our house this past Wednesday and have already had a # of showings with one offer in the works.

We can't believe it! Now we have to hustle to downsize yawn

We checked out your blog...so cool! Not sure if we will start one or not, maybe once we are on the road.

Take care and keep saving for your dream

Bob and Doris

Hi Marianne57 and thanks for the welcome. I see you're planning on going FT in 2016 in your Solitude. Very nice! We looked at those when we were thinking 5th wheel but then we did a complete 360 and decided to go class c motor home...go figure hmm

Nice to meet you! DW and I are from the Raleigh area, and are planning to begin our full-timing lifestyle in 2017. Like you, we have been following this site, as well as many others for about a year now. Lots of research and planning. RV-Dreams is definitely among the best, if not the best.

The very best of luck to the both of you!!!

Hi NeilRach04, nice to meet you also. I definitely agree that RV Dreams is awesome! They are very generous in sharing their wealth of knowledge. If it wweren't for them I'm not sure we would be trying this fulltiming thing...they have definitely inspired us.  We can't believe we're finally moving forward with all of this...it's so exciting!

Did you get your Reflection at Bill Plemmons? We've been over to the Rural Hall location looking at the Reflection and Solitude, both are very nice rigs.

Good luck in your endeavors!

D & B

Yes, actually we did. Last year we bought a Keystone Laredo bunkhouse model at the Bill Plemmon's in Raleigh, thinking people would go camping with us, and nobody has in our first 5 trips. This year we changed to a rear living room model, for our future plans, at Plemmon's in Rural Hall. We were on a week long trip to Mayberry Campground and decided to take a day to run down to Rural Hall. Long story short, 2 days later we picked up our Reflection 337RLS. So far we love it. We are trying to plan another trip to Mayberry Campground in July. BTW - now someone wants to go camping with us, go figure, LOL!!

Thanks gilljr for the welcome. That's so awesome that you and DW are already out there fultiming. We hope to be out there within the next 5 months.  We've got the house on the market and some possible offers already aww So hopefully it won't be long.

We are going to be camping at Tom Johnsons in Marion this weekend, we'll be on the other camping side across the road in site #12.  Unfortunately we cannot go to the reunion no because we haven't been able to go to any of the other rallies yet (probably can't until next year), but maybe (hopefully) we'll get to see/meet some of you all while we are there. Would love to meet Howard and Linda and thank them for all they do.

DH and I hope to meet you and your lovely wife

Congratulations and good luck! We hope to be in your shoes in a few short months in a new Class A diesel pusher. Maybe we'll be your neighbors in a campground somewhere down the road!

Thanks RonandBee! We hope you get to fulfill your dream very soon also. We are so excited, yet overwhelmed.  I must say that once things start falling into place and moving forward, it does get a little scary, but then we never imagined that our house would go under contract within 1 week of listing it yawn

Welcome to the Forum Doris & Bob!  We also are in the process of trying to downsize!  Sold a winter home in Surprise Arizona recently and trucked two UHauls full of "stuff" to Oregon  where some of it went to the kids, some into a small place we still have in Oregon and some to garage sales.  What a chore!  April in Arizona is not the time to be moving furnture, particular at our age!    We  figure it's gonna take us another year before we're ready to hit actually hit the road, but in the mean time, we've really enjoyed reading all the posts here.   This forum is so full of friendly and  informative folks, We can't wait to get out there and meet as many as we can on the road.

Enjoy the adventure!

Jim and Deb

Thanks Jim and Deb, sounds like you're working hard towards a great goal and taking it one step at a tikeepinglike us who just dove in.  Wd put our house on the market a llittle over a week ago,  thought we'd have some time to get rid of stuff, and within a couple of days we already have a contract on it.  Wow yawn now we rreally have to hustle and get rid of stuff.  Goodwill here we come!

Good luck your plans and keep dreaming!

Thanks Cori and Greg (and Hobie too), it was so nice to meet you as well.  Unfortunately it was way too brief, but now that we will finally be out in the RVing world hopefully we'll see you again sometime.  We will be trying to get to one of the rv-dreams rallies within the next year.

Be safe out there

Hi how are you. I am new, just joined from Rowan county. I'm going part time as far as working on road as vendor, being that you're from my state, I am sure the name Rowan county tells a lot about why I am excited to finally have means to sell elsewhere as far as markets, etc. Here I pretty much take care of my regular customers, many of which are long time customers and go door to door style or set up only where I know owner or people in charge. I like shopping at the local flea market and buying what I need but handmade is not profitable as far as selling there.
