Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Battery purchases in Canada!

Anyone have contacts on good deal/prices on 6 volt deep cycle batteries up in Canada? Thinking of AGM or Gell Cell of some brand. With our dollar at around .80 cents U.S. I'd like to find a good supplier up here.

A buddy buys his at Battery World in Vancouver BC, but I don't know if it is a chain or if the prices are that great. Canada Tire?

Thanks bjoyce. I'll look them over. Canadian Tire doesn't have. Would like a style like an AGM golf cart 6 volt. Need to buy (6)six of them right now.

I have the Interstate wet cell golf cart battery in mine (4)four of them and they work good. When those fail I'd like to upgrade those also to an AGM or Gell.

You do not want Gel. They are pickier about charge settings and charge slower.

http://www.lifelinebatteries.com/distributors.php shows dealers in Alberta (Edmonton and Grand Prairie), but none in Saskatchewan.

If you were to visit Vancouver Island, I would recommend Island Batteries in Victoria. www.islandbatteries.com/

That's where I bought my batteries for the fifth wheel, the truck camper, the car, home alarm system, ...
There is pretty much no type of battery they don't carry. Not the cheapest, but prices are reasonable and with the exchange rate at 0.8 it will be a good deal for you. Oh, they will install at no extra charge too.

Maybe the prices are more competitive in the big cities.

Good luck

Bernd
